The invention relates to a method for checking an electrical value of an electric machine, in particular an electric machine of a coordinate measuring device. The electric machine has an electric drive comprising a stator and a rotor. The method includes the steps of: detecting a value of a drive current delivered to the electric drive for driving the rotor, detecting a measured value of an electrical input variable of the electric machine, determining a calculated value of the electrical input variable on the basis of the detected value of the drive current and on the basis of a performance model of the electric machine, and determining a comparison value on the basis of the detected measured value and the calculated value of the electrical input variable, in order to check the detected value of the drive current.

Method and device for checking an electrical value of an electric machine

A signal generator includes a processing unit. The signal generator is configured to generate at least one periodic output signal. The output signal comprises a triangular-waveform signal. A frequency and an amplitude of the output signal are adjustable. The signal generator is configured to receive an input parameter. The input parameter comprises at least one piece of information about a setpoint amplitude and a setpoint frequency of the output signal. The processing unit is configured to determine a signal direction of the output signal. The processing unit is configured to determine a step size. The processing unit is configured to apply the step size to an actual amplitude based on the signal direction for a number of clock cycles. The number of clock cycles is dependent on the setpoint frequency of the output signal.

Signal generator

In a method for reliably monitoring the speed of a moveable coordinate measuring device, a first value of the speed is calculated from measured values of the coordinate measurement system. The measured values contain information on positions of the coordinate measuring device. The measured values are further used to determine the coordinates of a measurement object. A second value of the speed is ascertained from measurement signals of at least one additional movement sensor. The measurement signals can also be used for controlling a drive device of the coordinate measuring device. A fault signal can be generated if the first value and/or the second value deviate from one another, from a predetermined value and/or a limit value according to a predefined criterion.

Reliable monitoring of the speed in coordinate measuring appliances

In a method for operating a coordinate measuring machine and to a coordinate measuring machine, a coordinate measuring device, of the coordinate measuring machine is moved in at least one direction while being driven by an electric motor. An electrical drive current which flows through the electric motor for moving the electric motor and, move the coordinate measuring device is measured. A limit value for the electrical drive current is determined on the basis of a desired speed and/or on the basis of a desired acceleration with which the electric motor or the coordinate measuring device is intended to move. If the electrical drive current reaches the limit value determined and/or if the electrical drive current exceeds the limit value determined, the coordinate measuring device is changed to a predefined state, by virtue of the computer or the microcontroller switching off one of the switches disposed in the current path.
