Shelf stable tablets containing fosinopril sodium are prepared by employing either sodium stearyl fumarate or hydrogenated vegetable oil as the lubricant. The tablets can contain conventional excipients such as fillers, binders, and disintegrants as well as an optional diuretic.

Fosinopril tablet formulations

An ointment-like composition for the topical administration of a corticosteroid is disclosed. For the topical administration of corticosteroids an ointment-like composition comprising not less than 40% by weight of isostearyl alcohol can be used.

Oleaginous emollient vehicle for steroid formulations

New bendroflumethiazide formulations in solid form are provided which are characterized by excellent disintegration and dissolution capabilities even after long periods of storage. The new bendroflumethiazide formulations, for example, in the form of tablets, are formed of one or more excipients and a dry granulation containing one or more fillers, such as lactose and starch, and a preformed partial coprecipitate of bendroflumethiazide and a wetting agent therefor, such as polyvinyl pyrrolidone which converts the bendroflumethiazide into a more hydrophilic form.

Novel Bendroflumethiazide formulations and method

New bendroflumethiazide formulations in solid form are provided which are characterized by excellent disintegration and dissolution capabilities even after long periods of storage. The new bendroflumethiazide formulations, for example, in the form of tablets, contain in addition to bendroflumethiazide, a combination of microcrystalline cellulose which serves as a diluent and aids in disintegration of the tablets, lactose which serves as a diluent, optionally starch (in the gelatinized form) which serves as a disintegrant, and one or more auxilliary disintegrants, such as sodium carboxymethyl starch, a tablet lubricant, such as magnesium stearate, and a colorant, if desired. A method for preparing the above formulations is also provided.

Novel bendroflumethiazide formulations and method

Corticosteroid formulations in the form of a lipophilic stick are provided which are used as anti-inflammatory agents; the lipophilic stick includes the corticosteroid, such as halcinonide or triamcinolone acetonide, dissolved in an oleaginous solvent which is miscible with the other stick ingredients, which solvents include isostearyl alcohol, dibutyl sebacate, castor oil and/or mineral oil, one or more waxes to provide body and stiffness, and an anti-microbial agent to prevent growth and eliminate the spreading of microbes on the surface of the stick, such as propylene glycol or 1,3-butylene glycol.

Corticosteroid stick formulations

Corticosteroid formulations in the form of creams, lotions or ointments are provided which are used as anti-inflammatory agents, wherein the corticosteroid, such as halcinonide (21-chloro-9-fluoro-11.beta.-hydroxy-16.alpha.,17-[(1-methylethylidene)-bi s(oxy)]pregn-4-ene-3,20-dione) is dissolved in a sebacate carrier, such as dibutyl sebacate.
