A power distribution assembly which may be a fuse clip or a switch includes a lug mounted to a block in association with a spring clip which confronts one side of the lug. A portion of the spring clip is mounted to the block and an upper spring arm of the clip is positioned on one side of the lug. The lug is mounted to the block and includes a downwardly projecting tang which is inserted through a slot in the bottom portion of the assembly to thereby couple the spring arm to the lug and block and to receive the end of the fuse or a blade between the spring arm and the lug.

An electrical connector adapted for portable power distribution systems and other applications in various embodiments includes a versatile lug which may be selectively and repeatedly coupled to a stranded or other conductor and mounted and re-mounted on a bus bar or other mounting surface via a variety of attachment features on the lug. The lug offers numerous ways to attach it to a power bus and is designed for thousands of installations and re-installations each requiring the appropriate torque on the connector rather than a few such installations for which a known connector is designed and rated. The attachment features included in various embodiments of the lug connector allow for horizontal, vertical, side by side and edge clamping among other mounting configurations.

A torque limited screw is used to secure a conductor to an electrical connector. The screw has a torque limiting feature between a head and a body of the screw which must be overcome by force to break the head free from the screw body. The screw assembly includes a threaded body configured to be releasably coupled to a coupling portion of the connector. A head of the screw assembly is joined to the body via a neck portion which under a specified torque applied to the head fractures to break the head away from the body seated in the connector and securing the conductor. In one embodiment, the screw includes a plate spaced from and coupled to the threaded body for contacting the conductor. The plate is rotatable relative to the threaded body when the threaded body is coupled to the coupling portion of the connector.

A bus bar for electrical power distribution may be an elongated extruded metal bar having slots extending the entire length thereof. The slots may be of T-shape cross section, each with the channel opening through a face of the bar. Bolts are arranged with their heads captured in, and slidable along the length of the slots to any desired position. The bolts may have threaded stems which extend from the head through the channel of the T-slot in which its head is disposed and beyond that face of the bar through which the associated T-slot opens. Each stem is adapted to threadably receive a nut for clamping, supporting or connecting lugs to the bar. The bus bars can be mounted on insulating support members.

A screw assembly for use with an electrical connector securing a conductor includes a threaded body configured to be releasably coupled to a coupling portion of the connector. A contacting structure includes a plate spaced from the threaded body and has a flat contacting surface configured for contacting the conductor. The plate is coupled to the threaded body. The plate is rotatable relative to the threaded body when the threaded body is coupled to the coupling portion of the connector. The plate is restricted from movement away from said threaded body when the threaded body is not coupled to the coupling portion of the connector. A spacer may be positioned between the plate and the threaded body and is configured to urge the plate away from the threaded body.
