In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided methods, systems, mechanisms, techniques, and apparatuses for presentation of direct accessed storage under a logical drive model; for implementing a distributed architecture for cooperative NVM Data protection; data mirroring for consistent SSD latency; for boosting a controller's performance and RAS with DIF support via concurrent RAID processing; for implementing arbitration and resource schemes of a doorbell mechanism, including doorbell arbitration for fairness and prevention of attack congestion; and for implementing multiple interrupt generation using a messaging unit and NTB in a controller through use of an interrupt coalescing scheme.

Presentation of direct accessed storage under a logical drive model

In one embodiment, a request for telemetry data measured by a plurality of components of a computing platform is received from a computing device. Contextual information associated with the requested telemetry data is provided in a first communication, wherein the contextual information comprises information describing the plurality of components. An instance of the requested telemetry data is provided to the computing device, wherein the telemetry data is provided in a second communication that omits at least a portion of the contextual information describing the plurality of components.

The target systems collaborate with the controller node by respectively monitoring internal resources, such as resource availability and performance requirements to provide necessary resources for optimizing operating parameters of the system. The controller node may collect local system information for one or all of the computer nodes to dynamically steer traffic to a specific set of computers for processing to meet desired performance and power requirements.

Techniques and mechanisms for providing access to a storage device of a computer platform. In an embodiment, an agent executing on the platform may be registered for access to the storage device, the agent being allocated a memory space by a host operating system of the platform. Registration of the agent may result in a location in the allocated memory space being mapped to a location in the storage device. In another embodiment, the agent may write to the location in the allocated memory space to request access to the storage device, wherein the request is independent of any system call to the host OS which describes the requested access.

Methods and apparatus for media redirection

Methods and apparatuses that utilize a serial bus, such as a universal serial bus (USB), for communications between a communications network, a computing device, and an auxiliary device are disclosed. Some embodiments comprise methods handling sideband communications using serial buses. One or more of the embodiments comprise differentiating in-band data from out-of-band data, transferring information of the in-band data between a communications network and a computing device, and transferring information of the out-of-band data between the communications network and an auxiliary device. The apparatus may differentiate between in-band and out-of-band data and communicate information of the out-of-band data to an auxiliary device. In some embodiments, the apparatus may also transfer control information. In some embodiments, information may be routed based upon cyclic redundancy check (CRC) information.

Methods and apparatuses for serial bus sideband communications

A method and apparatus for address mapping for data packet routing. An embodiment of a network controller includes an address filter, where the address filter is to receive a data packet that has a shared address for a plurality of devices as a destination. The network controller also includes a sideband filter to identify an intended recipient device for the packet based on information contained in the packet, and an address mapper to substitute an address for the intended recipient device in place of the shared address of the data packet.

A computer monitoring system includes a sensor, a non-volatile storage and a controller. The sensor measures a parameter of a computer, and the non-volatile storage holds a threshold representing a limit for the parameter. The controller is configured to determine a normal operating range for the parameter and modify the threshold to match the limit of the normal operating range more closely.
