A pet location monitoring and deterrent system is provided. The system includes a first pet collar assembly that transmits a first RF signal. The system includes a first pillar assembly having a first control module, a first RF receiver module, an infrared photodetector array, a first wireless transceiver circuit, and a first warning light. The system includes a second pillar assembly having a second control module, a second RF receiver module, an infrared phototransmitter array, and a second wireless transceiver circuit. The first and second pillar assemblies are disposed a predetermined distance apart from one another such that a warning area is defined in front of and proximate to the first and second pillar assemblies and a keep-out area is defined behind and proximate to the first and second pillar assemblies.

Pet location monitoring and deterrent system

The present invention relates to methods and systems for monitoring of one or more machines or devices, such as washers and dryers, for a change of state and indicating when the change of state has occurred. In one aspect, the system comprises a monitor and alert unit which generates a signal indicative of the change of the state of the machine or device being monitored and a device or system to produce an alert notification based upon the signal. The monitor and alert unit includes an operational state sensor, a signal conditioner, and a comparator.

Machine or device monitoring and alert method and system

The present invention relates to methods and systems for monitoring operational cycles of one or more appliances, such as washers and dryers, and remotely indicating when such operating cycles have terminated. In one aspect, the present invention provides an appliance or machine monitoring system. The system includes a monitor and transmitter unit configured to monitor an operation cycle of an appliance or machine and transmit a wireless signal upon completion of the operation cycle. The monitor and transmitter unit includes an operation cycle sensor, a signal conditioner, a comparator, and a wireless transmitter broadcasting a wireless signal based upon the signal generated by the comparator. The system further includes a portable receiver and alert unit configured to receive signals generated by the wireless transmitter and generate a signal indicative of completion of an operation cycle of an appliance or machine.

Remote appliance or machine monitoring method and system

A method and system for monitoring and reporting vehicle tire pressure information. The system includes tire pressure monitors mounted to the tires of a vehicle. The tire pressure monitors detect tire pressure information from their respective tires and transmit that information to transponders that are fixedly-mounted to the vehicle. Each tire pressure monitor corresponds to a single transponder. When a tire pressure monitor transmits tire pressure information, the corresponding transponder receives the signal and transmits the tire pressure signal along with a unique transponder identification code to a vehicle central system controller. Based upon the transponder identification code, the central controller associates the tire pressure information with a particular tire location. However, under certain conditions, a transmitted tire pressure signal is received by one or more of the non-corresponding transponders as well as the corresponding transponder. To filter out the stray tire pressure signals, each of the receiving transponders detects the strength of the received tire pressure signal. The system then determines which of the receiving transponders is the corresponding transponder based upon the respective signal strengths.

Tire pressure monitor and location identification system and method

A system for monitoring and tire pressure in vehicles and correlating the specific locations of the vehicle tires with the tire pressure data of each tire. The system includes a tire pressure monitor operatively connected to each tire. A plurality of transponders, each having a unique identification code, are fixed to the vehicle such that there is one transponder secured proximate to a predetermined tire. During operation, each tire pressure monitor transmits tire pressure data to its corresponding transponder. The transponder adds its unique location identification code to the tire pressure data and transmits the data to a central system receiver. The central system receiver selectively displays the tire pressure data by tire location.

Tire pressure monitor and location identification system

An improved digital communications system is disclosed in which synchronization information is transmitted with the data. A start pulse, having a duration different than the other pulses in the transmitted digital data signal is used to mark the beginning of the frame of digital data. Preferably, a midpoint pulse is also transmitted with the start pulse to mark the midpoint of the frame to facilitate the generation of a local clock signal. Bit positions within the transmitted signal are sampled by sampling pulses which are generated by digital timers having time intervals keyed to the start and midpoint pulses.

Optical communications transmitter and receiver

A system is disclosed for transmitting a sensed temperature from a transmitter to a remote receiver over a modulated carrier through the atmosphere. The transmitter and the receiver are battery powered and include timing circuitry having low power consumption. The transmitter and the receiver are both cyclically turned on for a relatively short period and off for a relative long period with the receiver's on cycle being synchronized with the occurrence of the transmission of the modulated carrier. The receiver further employs techniques to minimize the effect of noise on the reception of the transmitted data which can occur from extraneous signal sources broadcasting in the same frequency band or from environmental noise.
