A multiple section pallet assembly having a primary pallet member fitted with adjustable article attachment brackets thereon to accommodate and attach a wide range of articles such as vehicle seats of varying sizes. For seat attachment, a support tray and support pedestals adjustably secured to the brackets have connector pins to fit into associated pin openings in seat structure so that the seats can be readily and securely mounted on the pallet member for conveyance and subsequently easily removed therefrom. The primary pallet member can be readily fixed to a bottom sled to form a pallet assembly. The sled has laterally spaced openings for forklift handling. The sled also provides protection for the primary pallet member including conveyance on a work line and allows the article to be readily placed or built-up on the primary pallet. In the event automatic handling is used, the primary pallet is separated from and used without its sled for completed seat conveyance or for seat built-up and subsequent handling and conveyance.

A reinforcement clip is provided for the corner of a panel member to prevent damage to the panel member corner during shipment. The panel member includes at least two substantially flat relatively narrow elongated flange portions joined together at one end thereof to define a planar corner with a panel portion extending from the outer edge thereof. Both the panel portions and flange portions are firmly supported by the reinforcement clip.

The present invention relates to a shipping rack including a dunnage bar locking mechanism for removably securing a dunnage bar between the end walls of the shipping rack. The mechanism comprises a housing secured to one end wall. A piston element is mounted within the housing for reciprocal movement. The piston element is removably secured to one end of a dunnage bar. A handle is pivotally mounted to the housing. The handle has an open position to move the piston element toward the end of the dunnage bar and a closed position to move the piston element away from the end of the dunnage bar. A means interconnects the handle and the piston element for allowing relative movement between the piston element and handle when the handle is in the closed position as a consequence of the dunnage bar being impacted by an external force.

A tray for packaging semi-circular split ring bearing halves is provided having a plurality of elongated compartments. Each compartment includes a herringbone-type of arrangement of ribs on the bottom wall thereof to receive bearing halves. The bearing halves are separated from one another by the ribs. Trays loaded with bearing halves may be stacked one upon the other with the compartments of one tray being nestable within compartments of a lower tray.

The present invention is a dunnage bar locking mechanism for removably securing a dunnage bar between the end walls of a shipping rack. The mechanism comprises a housing secured to an end wall. A piston element is mounted within the housing for reciprocal movement. The piston element is removably secured to one end of the dunnage bar. A handle is pivotally mounted to the housing. The handle has an open position to move the piston element toward the end of the dunnage bar and a closed position to move the piston element away from the end of the dunnage bar. A means interconnects the handle and the piston element for allowing relative movement between the piston element and handle when the handle is in the closed position as a consequence of the dunnage bar being impacted by an external force.

A storage pack is provided comprising at least two stacked and nested trays each loaded with a plurality of semicircular split ring bearing halves. Each tray includes a plurality of elongated compartments each of which has a rib structure on the bottom wall thereof defining a herringbone-type arrangement. Bearing halves are loaded into each tray compartment on one edge thereof with the ribs separating adjacent bearing halves. The ribs are of less height than the width of the bearing halves so that when one loaded tray is stacked and nested on another, the bearing halves assume the vertical load without loading the ribs.

A portable workbench featuring a stand structure supported by a plurality of wheels, and having a work surface with perforations therein for permitting liquid to drain therethrough, a self-draining catch basin disposed under the work surface to collect the draining liquid, and a removable reservoir connected to the catch basin to store the liquid for subsequent disposal. In one embodiment, the perforated work surface and catch basin form a detachable section for use in conjunction with existing stationary workbenches. The perforated work surface is coupled to the frame structure by a hinge which permits the work surface to swing away from the catch basin for easy access thereto. The position of this hinge and the supporting structure is such that the weight of the work surface and any objects that may be placed thereon is entirely supported by the stand structure and not by the hinge.
