A method of attaching a clamping jaw to a support element comprising a stop element having the steps of positioning a stop element within a channel formed in the clamping jaw and blocking a first end of the channel and a second end of the channel so that the stop element is trapped between the first and second ends of the channel.

A full face clamp pad having an engagement surface, a first wall attached to and extending away from the engagement surface, a second wall attached to and extending away from the engagement surface, a third wall attached to and extending away from the engagement surface and a flange attached solely to the first wall and extending above the engagement surface.

A locking pliers includes a body that supports a fixed jaw and a movable jaw. A lever is pivotably connected to the movable jaw, and a locking mechanism including a stub arm is coupled between the body and the lever to lock the jaws in a closed position. This locking mechanism includes an adjustment screw that is exposed at an end of the body remote from the fixed jaw. The body forms a resilient gripping surface that extends away from the exposed portion of the adjustment screw. This gripping surface extends beyond the end of the lever by at least about 4 inches such that the lever does not obstruct access to the grip. The user can place both hands on the grip to apply large torques to a clamped workpiece once the locking pliers has been locked in place on the workpiece.

A pipe clamp includes a clamp body which supports a screw. A jaw is mounted at one end of the screw and an actuator is used to advance the screw with respect to the clamp body in order to clamp or spread a workpiece with respect to a workpiece-engaging element. The clamp body is movable along the length of the pipe, and the screw is inclined with respect to the pipe to increase clearance for the actuator.

A chalk line reel includes an opening in the housing that permits access to a powdered chalk storage area. A movable door is mounted on the housing, and the door is movable to a closed position in which the door obstructs the opening. A first element on the door releasably couples the chalk line clip to the door, and a second element on the housing releasably couples the chalk line clip to the housing. The first and second elements are positioned such that clip resists movement of the door away from the closed position when the clip is coupled to the first and second elements.

A locking pliers includes first and second handles. The first handle includes two spaced, parallel plates and a jaw received therebetween. The plates and at least a portion of the jaw are surrounded by a molded plastic element that defines the hand engaging surface of a handle. A similar construction can be used for the second handle. The plates provide rigidity to the handle, while the molded plastic element provides an ergonomically shaped hand engaging surface. The disclosed handles can be adapted for use in other hand tools, including pliers, wire cutters, snips, and the like.

Pipe clamp

A display package, enabling a user to manipulate a tool having a pair of tool openings that is positioned within the display package. The display package has a base and a plate having a plate opening having an edge. A first support element extends from the base to the plate where the first support element expansively engages the edge of the plate opening. A second support element is also present that extends from the base to the plate, where the first support element has a portion of a size to be inserted through the first tool opening and the second support element has a portion of a size to be inserted through the second tool opening.
