An apparatus and system for a multiple universal subscriber identity module (MUSIM) user equipment (UE) are described. Due to activity on another USIM, the MUSIM UE transmits a service request message to release an N1 non-access stratum (NAS) signaling connection or reject a paging request received from the network, dependent on whether the MUSIM UE is in a 5generation (5G) Mobility Management (5GMM)-CONNECTED mode or a 5GMM-IDLE mode. The service request message may contain a paging restriction that restrict paging to: all paging, all paging except for paging for voice service, all paging except for packet data unit (PDU) session(s), and all paging except for voice service and PDU session(s).

An apparatus and system to enable dynamic offloading and execution of compute tasks are described. In split CU-DU RAN architectures, the CU-CP is connected with multiple compute control functions (CF) and service functions (SF) that have different computing hardware/software capabilities. Different architectures depend on whether the SF is collocated with the CU-UP, the CU-UP and SF only serve compute messages, a compute message is supplied directly to the CU-UP or also traverses the CU-CP. In response to reception from a UE of a compute message containing data for computation being sent to the CU-CP through the DU, the CU-CP sends the data to the SF with identifiers and sends the result to the UE.

An apparatus for a UE includes a RF interface to receive an SDP offer message from the remote UE, the SDP offer message including a first dedicated SDP attribute parameter to indicate support of ANBR capability of the remote UE; and processor circuitry. The processor circuitry is to decode the SDP offer message to determine the support of ANBR capability of the remote UE; encode an SDP answer message in response to the SDP offer message, the SDP answer message including a second dedicated SDP attribute parameter to indicate support of ANBR capability of the UE; and cause transmission of the SDP answer message to the remote UE. Techniques for indicating the presence of critical data at user equipment (UE) in an Radio Access Network (RAN) are described. Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for negotiating Radio Access Network (RAN)-level capabilities toward improving end-to-end quality of Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) communication sessions, such as Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) calls. Disclosed embodiments include Session Description Protocol-based mechanisms to signal the RAN-level capabilities. Session description protocol mechanisms for signaling radio access network capabilities in multimedia telephony sessions

Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The gNB may be configured with a gNB central unit (gNB-CU) and a gNB distributed unit (gNB-DU). The gNB-CU may determine a route for delivery of a data packet to a User Equipment (UE) on an integrated access backhaul (IAB) of relays. The gNB may generate a physical layer (PHY) data packet in accordance with a split between functionality of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer at the gNB-CU and functionality of a radio link control (RLC) layer at the gNB-DU. The PHY data packet may include the data packet, a PDCP header, an adaptation layer header, an RLC header, a medium access control (MAC) header, and a PHY header. The adaptation layer header may indicate one or more relays included in the route.

Next generation node-B (GNB) for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) relay in new radio (NR) networks

Technology for initiating emergency calls is disclosed. A minimum set of emergency related data (MSD) associated with the emergency call may be identified at a terminal equipment (TE) of a mobile terminal. An attention (AT) command may be generated that includes the MSD and selected configuration information related to the emergency call. The AT command may be sent from the TE of the mobile terminal to a mobile termination (MT) of the mobile terminal in order to setup the emergency call, wherein the mobile terminal (MT) routes the emergency call to a public safety answering point (PSAP) in a communication network.

Emergency call handling

Embodiments of a mobile device, a User Equipment (UE), and method for supporting emergency calls on a packet-switched network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the UE may be configured to support emergency calls in accordance with a 3GPP protocol and with eCall in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) session. The UE may comprise hardware processing circuitry configured to transmit traffic packets to an Evolved Node-B (eNB) for forwarding to a receiving station, which may be a Public Safety Answer Point (PSAP). In some embodiments, the transmission of traffic packets during a packetization period may be restricted to one of transmission of voice packets or transmission of data packets. In some embodiments, at least some of the data packets may include Minimum Set of Emergency Related Data (MSD), and the IMS session may be configured in accordance with Real Time Transport Protocol (RTP).
