A gas bag arrangement for a motor vehicle is provided. The gas bag comprises a gas bag which can be deployed for the protection of a person present outside the vehicle along at least a section of the front window and/or another portion of an outside of the motor vehicle and a housing in which the gas bag is arranged, wherein the housing is different from a cover of a receiving region of the motor vehicle extending before the front window. The housing is designed such that it at least partly covers the gas bag towards the cover of the motor vehicle-based on the condition of the gas bag arrangement mounted in the vehicle.

Gas bag arrangements for a motor vehicle

An airbag module for a motor vehicle includes a gas sack that can be inflated with gas to protect an occupant, a gas generator for generating the gas provided for inflating the gas sack, and an additional cooling device comprising an openable reservoir for storing a coolant. The reservoir is opened when the gas sack is inflated, so that the coolant for cooling the gas used to inflate the gas sack can come into contact with the gas. The cooling device comprises a movement generating device that opens the reservoir to release the coolant.

Airbag module

An airbag module for a motor vehicle includes an airbag that may be inflated for restraining a person, at least one outlet opening for releasing gas out of the module and originating at least partially from the inflated airbag, and a reservoir containing coolant for cooling the gas released from the module through the outlet opening. The reservoir includes a wall that sealingly encloses the coolant and is opened to bring the coolant into direct contact with the released gas to cool the released gas.

A device is provided for mounting a module carrier on a rotatable steering wheel of a motor vehicle in such a manner that the angular position of the module carrier remains constant during a rotation of the steering wheel, with a first toothed ring connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the module carrier, a lever, which is mounted on the steering wheel via a bearing section in a manner such that it can pivot to and fro between two positions, a first toothed wheel, which is mounted rotatably on a first arm of the lever and meshes with the first toothed ring in a first position of the lever, and elastic means for pressing the first toothed wheel elastically against the first toothed ring so that rotation of the steering wheel in one direction causes a rotation of the module carrier in the opposite direction. For actuating the lever, the lever has a second arm which is connected via the bearing section to the first arm of the lever.

Device for mounting a module carrier on the steering wheel of a motor vehicle

An airbag module for a motor vehicle, including a cover. The airbag may be deployed through an openable region of the cover into the outside space of the airbag module. When the airbag is inflated, the outflow orifice is arranged in the inside space of the airbag module such that gas emerging from the first outflow orifice passes through the openable region of the cover. The gas generator includes at least one gas outlet orifice fluidly connected to the airbag. The airbag module further includes a second openable outflow orifice, which is formed on a chamber surrounding the gas generator and is in fluid communication with the gas outlet orifice of the gas generator so that the gas flowing out through the gas outlet orifice is conducted at least partially into the outside space.

An airbag module for a motor vehicle having an airbag which can be inflated with gas through an inflation opening in order to protect an occupant, and having a gas generator with which the gas for inflating the airbag can be generated, said gas emerging from at least one gas outlet opening of the gas generator and passing into the airbag through the inflation opening, the airbag module having, according to the invention, a first outflow opening which is assigned an element which can move between at least two different positions and by the movement of which between the two positions the first outflow opening can be connected in a gas-conducting manner to the gas outlet opening of the gas generator so that the gas which flows out through the gas outlet opening is conducted at least partially into the outer space.

An airbag module for a motor vehicle includes an airbag, an inflow orifice, a continuously running marginal region, a gas generator, a generator carrier having a base and emerging from an output orifice, a surface defined by the marginal region, and a continuous running wall protruding from the base. The wall has at least one first outflow orifice through which gas emerging from the gas outlet orifice of the gas generator can pass into the outside space of the airbag module. A cylindrical ring with a clearance is arranged displaceably on the wall in a movement direction running around the wall. The clearance is able to be brought into congruence with the outflow orifice as a result of a displacement of the cylindrical ring in the movement direction to open the first outflow orifice.

An airbag module for a motor vehicle comprises an inflatable gas bag; a gas generator for inflating the gas bag; a valve for letting gas out of the gas bag; a moveable actuating element for the valve, which can be actuated in order to open the valve; and a trigger mechanism which is used to actuate the actuating element by producing pressure. The trigger mechanism releases a compressed gas in order to actuate the actuating element, the gas directly acting upon a pressure attach surface of the actuating element.
