A subpixel arrangement structure for a display device includes a plurality of unit pixels each having a red subpixel, a green subpixel, and a blue subpixel. The red, green, and blue subpixels form a delta arrangement. Green subpixels are disposed on a plurality of first subpixel arrangement lines, each of which extends along a direction of a first axis. Two red subpixels and two blue subpixels are alternately disposed along the first axis direction on a plurality of second subpixel arrangement lines. Each of the plurality of second subpixel arrangement lines is positioned between every two of the plurality of first subpixel arrangement lines and extends along the first axis direction.

In one embodiment, a mapping from image data values to first and second sets of subpixels in a plurality of output frames uses brightness versus viewing angle performance measures to reduce color error when the image is viewed on the display panel at an off-normal viewing angle. The display also includes a driver circuit coupled to the panel to provide image data signals effecting polarity inversion to the panel. The display also includes a plurality of crossover connections from the driver circuit to the columns of the panel such that polarities of same color subpixels in the first direction alternate at a spatial frequency sufficient to abate undesirable visual effects on the panel when an image is displayed thereon; each crossover connection applying the same polarity to each subpixel in the column.

An image processing method comprises: (A) separating R and B data and G data from input data; (B) loading data corresponding to respective odd rows of gamma-converted R and B data, and storing data corresponding to respective even rows of the R and B data adjacent to the loaded odd rows; (C) loading two R data of the even row, along with two R data of the odd row corresponding to a first display position, so as to form a 2&#xd7;2 R pixel area, and loading two B data of the even row, along with two B data of the odd row corresponding to a second display position, so as to form a 2&#xd7;2 B pixel area; (D) computing the sharpness of the corresponding display data by comparing the data in each of the R and B pixel areas column by column and row by row; (E) computing the luminance of the display data by taking the average value of the data corresponding to the odd row of each of the R and B pixel areas; (F) determining the gray scale value of output R data by adding the sharpness to the luminance of the R data, and determining the gray scale value of output B data by adding the sharpness to the luminance of the B data; and (G) combining the inverse-gamma-converted R and B data and the input G data and then outputting the combined data according to the sub-pixel structure of the display panel.

Methods and apparatuses for an electronic assembly. The electronic assembly has a first object created and separated from a host substrate. The first object has a first electrical circuitry therein. A carrier substrate is coupled to the first object wherein the first object is being recessed below a surface of the carrier substrate. The carrier substrate further includes a first carrier connection pad and a second carrier connection pad that interconnect with the first object using metal connectors. A receiving substrate, which is substantially planar, including a second electrical circuitry, a first receiving connection pad, and a second receiving connection pad that interconnect with the second electrical circuitry using the metal connectors. The carrier substrate is coupled to the receiving substrate using the connection pads mentioned.

Techniques for signal correction and localizing of errors onto particular subpixels are disclosed.

Processing data for a display including pixels, each pixel having color sub-pixels, comprises receiving pixel data. Once the pixel data is received, processing data for a display includes converting the pixel data to sub-pixel rendered data, the conversion generating the sub-pixel rendered data for a sub-pixel arrangement including alternating red and green sub-pixels on at least one of a horizontal and vertical axis. Next processing data for a display includes correcting the sub-pixel rendered data if a condition exists and outputting the sub-pixel rendered data.
