Exhaust-gas turbocharger

The invention relates to an exhaust-gas turbocharger () having a compressor housing (), having a bearing housing () which can be connected at one end to the compressor housing () by means of a first fastening device (), and having a turbine housing () which can be connected to the bearing housing () at the other end of the latter by means of a second fastening device (), with the compressor housing (), the bearing housing () and the turbine housing () extending along an exhaust-gas turbocharger longitudinal axis (R), wherein the first fastening device () is designed as a plug-and-twist connecting device.

A turbocharger () in which the bearing-housing-side diffuser wall is thermally decoupled in order to reduce the heat introduction at the bearing housing cover (). The turbocharger () includes a turbine (), a compressor () which has a diffuser, and a bearing housing () which is arranged between the turbine () and the compressor () and which has the bearing housing cover (). The bearing housing cover () is composed of a material with a low thermal conductivity of at most 5 W/mK, for example a temperature-resistant plastic.

Turbocharger

A compressor () of an exhaust-gas turbocharger (ATL), having a compressor wheel () and a compressor housing () which has a housing longitudinal axis (A). The compressor wheel () is arranged in the housing. An inlet duct () runs from a compressor inlet () to the compressor wheel (). A recirculation duct () has a compressor-wheel-side inflow opening () and a compressor-inlet-side return flow opening (). The inflow opening () and the return flow opening () can be opened and closed.

The present invention relates to a turbocharger () for an internal combustion engine (), having at least one low-pressure exhaust-gas recirculation line () which opens out via an exhaust-gas mixing-in opening () into an intake line () of the internal combustion engine (); having a turbine () and having a compressor () which is drive-connected to the turbine () and which has a compressor wheel () which is arranged in a compressor housing () into which the intake line () opens out via a compressor inlet (), and having a mixing device () for mixing recirculated exhaust gas (A) and fresh air (FL), characterized in that the mixing device () has an inflow distributor () in which the exhaust-gas recirculation line (), which extends at least substantially along the longitudinal axis (L) thereof, and the intake line (), which extends at least substantially at right angles to the longitudinal axis (L), open out, and in that, as viewed in the flow direction (R) of the exhaust gases (A), an impact plate () is provided downstream of an outflow opening () of the exhaust-gas recirculation line ().

A compressor housing of an exhaust-gas turbocharger is formed as a pressure-die-cast housing to achieve cost reduction in relation to permanent-mold-cast housings. Since it is not possible in a pressure-die-cast housing to realize round transitions of the spiral in the direction of the housing rear side because this would prevent removal from a mold, the bearing-housing-side diffuser wall is formed as a separate component.

The present invention relates to a turbocharger () for an internal combustion engine () having at least one exhaust-gas recirculation line () which enters via an exhaust-gas mixing-in opening () into an intake line () of the internal combustion engine (); having a turbine (); and having a compressor (); which is drive-connected to the turbine () and which has a compressor wheel () which is arranged in a compressor housing () into which the intake line () opens via a compressor inlet (), having a mixing device () for mixing recirculated exhaust gas and fresh air, with the mixing device () having at least two guide plates () in the shape of truncated cone shell segments which are arranged radially offset with respect to one another and which delimit in each case one inflow gap () at their longitudinal edges arranged offset with respect to one another.

Turbochargers operate at extremely high speed, so balance of the rotating core is of the utmost importance to turbocharger life. A special frusto-conical, or frusto-spherical, centering geometry is added to the interface of the compressor nut and the nose of the compressor wheel to aid in keeping the wheel, nut, and stub-shaft centered on the turbocharger axis to reduce the degree of core unbalance.
