A tire pressure monitor sensor is disclosed. The sensor includes a wireless transmitter and a processing unit. The processing unit provides a time trigger signal within a measurement period and triggers a wireless transmission of a reference signal indicating an occurrence of the time trigger signal to a remote unit. The tire pressure monitor sensor is configured to derive, based on a plurality of acceleration measurement samples within the measurement period, information indicting at least one rotation property of a tire. The tire pressure monitor sensor is further configured to wirelessly transmit the derived information to a remote unit separate from the reference signal.

Systems and methods using a reference marker

Some aspects of the present disclosure provide for a system and method for fault mitigation of a non-volatile memory (NVM) store subject to error correction code (ECC) checking. A simple and robust means to test the integrity of failsafe code stored within the non-volatile memory prior to execution are disclosed. In some embodiments, the failsafe code comprises program elements to communicate the memory failure to other parts of the system, or to execute an orderly shutdown. In the event that an ECC error occurs, the failsafe code can be verified, and upon successful verification, executed.

Fail safe code functionality

In order to provide better resolution over a wider pressure range the previously available, the techniques disclosed herein set an output precision of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) based on a control signal provided by a control element. The control signal sets the output precision of the ADC to a first level to measure an ambient pressure within a first pressure range; and signal sets the output precision of the ADC to a second level to measure an ambient pressure within a second pressure range.

A receiver is configured to receive the initiation signal and attenuate the initiation signal until the initiation signal is within a first predetermined range of a reference signal. A controller identifies the position of a tire in response to the attenuation. In some embodiments, the reference signal is adjusted until the attenuated initiation signal is within a second predetermined range of the adjusted reference signal, and the position of the tire is identified further in response to the amount of adjustment of the reference signal.

Tire position identification system and method

A universal monitor to be mounted in a tire of a vehicle, the monitor for use in a remote tire pressure monitoring system for the vehicle. The monitor includes a sensor for sensing tire pressure, and a storage device for storing a plurality of codes, each code comprising at least a data format. The monitor also includes a transmitter in communication with the sensor and the storage device, the transmitter for transmitting a wireless signal including data representing the sensed tire pressure. The wireless signal is transmitted by the transmitter according to at least one of the stored plurality of codes.
