A brake system for motor vehicles may include an actuation device (e.g., brake pedal), a travel simulator to generate a feedback force on the actuation device, a first piston-cylinder unit having at least one piston that separates two working chambers that are connected via at least one hydraulic line to at least one wheel brake of a brake circuit, a control device and a pressure supply unit driven by an electric motor. At least one wheel brake may be assigned to each brake circuit, and each wheel brake may be connected to its associated hydraulic connecting line via a controllable switching valve. An outlet valve may be assigned to a single wheel brake or to a single wheel brake of each brake circuit in a hydraulic connection between the wheel brake and a pressure medium storage container, without any further valve disposed as such.

An actuating device for a motor vehicle brake may include an actuating device/brake pedal, a pressure supply device driven by an electric motor, a (master) piston-cylinder unit that may be actuated by the actuating device, and which is connected hydraulically with a fluid reservoir, a valve assembly for wheel-specifically adjusting brake pressures and for connecting or disconnecting the wheel brakes to/from the pressure supply device and the piston-cylinder unit, an electronic control unit, and one or more sensor devices that may be used to provide sense various conditions and to provide inputs to the electronic control unit.

A piston-cylinder unit includes a piston delimiting at least one working chamber, in which a first seal for sealing at least one first working chamber is arranged either between the piston and cylinder or between a plunger connected to the piston and the cylinder. A second seal is arranged between the first seal and the first working chamber, and the piston-cylinder unit further includes a first channel arranged in the wall of the cylinder or in the piston, which joins the first seal and the second seal in the inner chamber of the cylinder. The first channel and/or a hydraulic line connected thereto may have a throttle device and/or a valve device. An electronic control and regulating device may have a diagnosis or monitoring function for a possible defect or failure of a seal. A device for a hydraulic actuating system, e.g., a motor vehicle brake, a clutch or a gear selector, may include the following components arranged in one housing, forming a main module: at least one pressure supply device driven by an electric motor drive, and a valve arrangement comprising at least one solenoid valve. The device may further include an electrical control unit (ECU) and valve output stages and sensors. The main module may be electrically and/or hydraulically connected to at least one further system component, which system component may include and actuating device and a travel simulator.

A stator of an external rotor motor supports a plurality of excitation windings. At least one heat dissipation means is provided, for discharging heat in an axial direction. The heat dissipation means contacts the end face of at least one excitation winding or a potting compound or insulation enclosing the excitation winding and is also connected to a heat sink, in the form of the stator carrier, a cooling element and/or a housing, for removing the heat.

A brake apparatus, for electrically driven motor vehicles, includes a traction motor at an axle of a vehicle, which traction motor is used both as drive motor and as brake system with recuperation of brake energy, a first piston-cylinder unit, which is actuatable by means of an actuating device, in particular brake pedal, a second piston-cylinder unit, which is actuatable by means of an electromotive drive and a non-hydraulic gearing apparatus, in particular spindle drive. The piston-cylinder units are connected via hydraulic connecting lines to wheel brakes of the motor vehicle. A pressure chamber of the first piston-cylinder unit is connected to two wheel brakes of a vehicle axle, and a pressure chamber of the second piston-cylinder unit is connected to a vehicle axle for active brake force feedback control and recuperation control in interaction with the traction motor.

A diagnostic method, in particular to determine the leak tightness of at least one seal and/or one valve, for at least one component of a vehicle, wherein a piston cylinder unit, whose piston is driven by an electromotive drive, forms a pressure supply unit, wherein a control unit identifies the piston position and/or piston movement of the piston by means of at least one sensor and the pressure generated by the pressure supply unit or the motor current flowing through the drive by means of at least one sensor. During the diagnostic method, the control unit may be used to measure quantities relating to piston movement/position, pressure, and/or pressure variation.

An actuation system for at least one hydraulically actuatable device, e.g., a vehicle brake, may include an actuation device, e.g., a brake pedal, at least one first pressure source that can be actuated using the actuation device, and a second pressure source having a pressure-generating arrangement that is moveable in two directions, and which includes an electro-mechanical drive for the pressure-generating arrangement. Each pressure source is connected via at least one hydraulic line to the hydraulically actuatable device for supplying pressurising medium. A valve device may regulate pressure of the hydraulically actuatable device. Pressurising medium can be supplied in a controlled manner in both movement directions of the pressure-generating arrangement. Provision is made for two working chambers of the second pressure source to be connected by a hydraulic line, and a valve device may be arranged in the hydraulic line.

A method for opening and/or using at least one vehicle may include receiving, by a mobile terminal, an identifier assigned to a target vehicle. The identifier may be transmitted to a server, and a key data set may be received from the server. The key data set and/or a code based on the key data set may be transmitted as a remote code to the target vehicle. The target vehicle may generate at least one local code after receiving the remote code, and may compare the remote code to the local code(s). The target vehicle may be opened and/or released, or a vehicle command may be executed if at least one of the local codes corresponds to the remote code.

The invention relates to a brake device and a method for operating a brake device, wherein said brake device comprises an actuation device, also a booster device, in particular having an electro-hydraulic drive, a piston cylinder device (main cylinder) in order to supply hydraulic pressure medium to the brake circuits, a valve device for controlling or regulating the supply of the pressure medium and an electronic control or regulating device. According to the invention provision is made for additional pressure medium volume to be supplied in a controlled manner to at least one brake circuit by means of a further piston cylinder device, in particular a double stroke piston and at least one valve controlled by the control or regulating device.

Brake device and method for operating a brake device

A pressure generating device may comprise a piston-cylinder unit having a bilaterally acting piston with two effective surfaces defining two respective, separate working spaces in a sealing manner. Each working space is connected via a hydraulic line to a hydraulic circuit, wherein at least one hydraulic chamber of a consumer is connected to each hydraulic circuit, and wherein a drive drives the piston. Each working space may be in communication with a reservoir for hydraulic medium, via a respective hydraulic line having a respective switching valve. Alternatively, one or both working spaces may be in communication with a reservoir for hydraulic medium via a hydraulic line, with a switching valve in one or both hydraulic lines, and/or a respective outlet valve may be associated with one or more hydraulic chambers of the consumer, and a further connecting line having a switching valve may connect the pressure chambers and/or hydraulic lines.
