Systems and methods for managing waste (including liquid, solid, and mixed waste) without using a sink, worktop, or countertop disposal feature. Specific examples provide particular use in connection with an aircraft or other vehicle galley, lavatory, or any other location in which waste that requires disposal is generated. The disclosed embodiments may be installed in an initial galley or lavatory, or they may be used to retrofit an existing environment, such that an entire new disposal system or new sink footprint is not required.

Embodiments of the invention described herein thus provide systems and methods for providing fountain beverage consumables in an easily accessible and removable and replaceable form. In one example, the fountain beverage consumables are provided on a cart that has interface connections with a dispensing unit. The dispensing unit may be mounted in a galley. When the cart is in its docking station with respect to the dispensing unit, fluid communication between the fountain beverage consumables and the dispensing unit is provided.

A lavatory monument assembly configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft. The modular lavatory monument assembly includes first, second, third and fourth walls that cooperate to form an enclosure that defines a lavatory interior, a door positioned on one of the first, second, third, or fourth walls, and an opening on the fourth side that is open to an exterior of the enclosure. A seat is at least partially positioned in the opening. The seat includes a seat back and a seat portion that is pivotal between a storage position and a deployed position. In the deployed position the seat portion extends outside of the opening.

Embodiments of the present invention provide double deep, single width ovens for use in aircraft galleys. The ovens are particularly beneficial as they do not change current catering process or equipment, leading to their ease of acceptability and use in the airline galley design and development industry. The ovens may be used with two standard 32-meal carriers, such that the carriers are positioned front to back in the oven. Alternatively, 64-meal carriers may be developed that fit into the double deep oven as well.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a system that provides a cohesive, harmonized look to aircraft galleys and other aircraft areas. The system allows airlines to easily change the decorative front fascia of galley (and other) airline components, even while the components are installed on the aircraft. The replacement is accomplished without the use of tools or extensive manual effort by providing replaceable and interchangeable panels for use on aircraft or other passenger transport vehicles or vessels.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a combination trash collection and compaction trolley that has a main front door with a trash door that provides access to an interior of the trolley so that trash can be front-loaded into the trash door, as well as an open top portion, which allows trash to be top-loaded into the open top portion.

Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to an espresso or other coffee drink maker that is configured to accept a number of different forms of coffee grounds. It may accept powder/coffee grounds that are loose, coffee capsules, coffee pods, (e.g., 'ESE' (easy serving espresso) pods), or any other format. The machine may also be provided with an optional built-in grinder, which allows the machine to accept fresh coffee beans, in order to grind and brew them on-site, in a single machine. Such espresso/coffee drink makers find particular use on-board passenger transport vehicles such as aircraft, but may be useful in a number of other locations.

A lavatory monument assembly configured to be positioned in the interior of an aircraft that includes a first wall and a second wall that are generally parallel to one another, and the second wall is longer than the first wall. The lavatory monument assembly further includes a third wall and a fourth wall, and the third wall and the fourth wall generally are perpendicular to the first wall and the second wall, and the third wall and the fourth wall connect to the first wall and the second wall to form a lavatory interior. The first portion of the fourth wall generally is parallel to the third wall, and a second portion of the fourth wall angles inwardly along generally straight lines into the lavatory interior, such that the area in the lavatory interior proximate the first wall is less than the area proximate the second wall. The lavatory monument assembly farther includes a toilet in the lavatory interior proximate the first wall, and it further includes a door positioned on one of the first, second, third, or fourth walls.

Embodiments of the present relate generally to devices and methods for separating and removing liquid waste from mixed waste. One embodiment relates to a trash compactor having a suction line for removing collected liquid. A further embodiment relates to a trash compactor having a sloped platen for allowing liquid to collect for subsequent removal or drainage.

Embodiments provided relate to systems and methods for using aircraft lavatories as storage when the aircraft is on the ground and during taxi, take-off, and landing, but to also allow the lavatories to be open for use during other aircraft flight times. This is accomplished by providing a slidable unit that is contained within the interior space of the aircraft lavatory in a storage position and that is extended out of the aircraft lavatory space in a lavatory use position.
