An expandable interbody spacer that is delivered in the anterior approach with adjustable height and end plate angulation (lordosis). The expandable interbody spacer is configured to have an initial collapsed state having a first height suitable for being inserted into an intervertebral space defined by a pair of adjacent vertebrae, and an expanded state having a second height that is greater than the first height. The expandable interbody spacer may be expanded from the initial collapsed state to the expanded state in-situ. The expanded state increases the distance between the adjacent vertebrae and provides support to the adjacent vertebrae while bone fusion occurs and also provides rigid support between the adjacent vertebrae that withstands compressive forces.

An expandable interbody spacer for placement between adjacent vertebrae having two or more upper and lower endplates and lateral expansion wedges configured to couple a drive means to expand both a height and a width of the expandable interbody spacer from a collapsed state to an expanded state.

Expandable articulating transforaminal lumbar interbody spacer

A variable lordosis endplate that may adjusted from 0 to 30 degrees using a mechanical drive that allows the spine's angle to be physically adjusted in-situ. The variable lordosis endplate may be quickly attached to either end, or both ends, of the central column. The variable lordosis endplate can be attached in orientations of every 15 degrees. The variable lordosis endplates' lordotic angles may be on either end of the column independently from one another. By attaching a variable lordosis endplate to both ends of the column, hyper-lordotic angles may be achieved.

An En Bloc connector configured to couple with multiple sequential reducers or extenders, such as spinal screw reducers, to correct a rotation deformity of the spine by turning or rotating the deformed spine structure toward a normal position. In the embodiments shown, the En Bloc connector holds three sequential reducers in the retracted configuration and four sequential reducers in the extended configuration.

An expandable interbody spacer for placement between adjacent vertebrae having two or more upper and lower endplates having compound-angle linear rods coupled to compound-angle bores configured to couple with the compound-angle linear rods a drive means having corresponding compound-angle slots, ramps or rails configured to slidingly engage the compound-angle slots, ramps or rails of the two or more upper and lower endplates, wherein movement of the drive means in a first direction moves the two or more upper and lower endplates away from each other both vertically and horizontally to expand both a height and a width of the expandable interbody spacer from a collapsed state to an expanded state.

A fixation member inserter instrument attaches to an interbody spacer and assists in the insertion of the interbody spacer into the intravertebral spacer. The distal end of the fixation member inserter instrument includes a fixation member guide with two or more fixation members that is configured to simultaneously deliver the two or more fixation members during the fixation member impaction process. The interbody spacer is attached to the inserter instrument by a threaded rod adjacent to the main body of the fixation member inserter instrument. There is an impaction rod extending through the device which connects to the two or more fixation members in the fixation member guide. When the impaction rod is impacted on a proximal end, the distal end contacts the two or more fixation members simultaneously and forces them into the vertebral body at the same time.

An expandable cage for placement between adjacent vertebrae having two or more upper and lower end plates having compound-angled slots, ramps or rails, and a drive means having corresponding compound-angled slots, ramps or rails configured to slidingly engage the compound-angled slots, ramps or rails of the two or more upper and lower end plates, wherein movement of the drive means in a first direction moves the two or more upper and lower end plates away from each other both vertically and horizontally to expand both a height and a width of the expandable cage from a collapsed state to an expanded state.

A tissue retractor having a spring loaded retractor blade that provides constant downward pressure on the spine to eliminate/reduce tissue from creeping underneath the tips of the blades during use, which decreases operation time and reduces patient risk.

The present invention is directed to a rod reducer that is both a lateral rod reducer and an axial rod reducer that uses an entirely different mechanism never before used for lateral rod reduction. The lateral rod reducer is configured to move a spinal fixation rod that is not aligned with the pedicle screw to a position above the tulip slot or U-shaped channel. Once in position, the lateral rod reducer also provides an axial rod reducer to advance the spinal fixation rod axially into the tulip slot. Splitting the reducer body geometry to create a hinged jaw that is then driven by a linkage system is novel. The lateral rod reducer of the present invention allows for incremental lateral reduction that utilizes a threaded linkage feature for increased power/mechanical advantage when laterally reducing. This will allow for new techniques of lateral rod manipulation in deformity cases.

A crosslink mechanism features a locking clip with interlocking teeth. When being deployed, the surgeon will compress the spring loaded clips, freeing rotation on both sides of the mechanism. Once clipped onto the sequential reducers, the surgeon releases the clips allowing the spring to lock the teeth and therefore lock rotational freedom out of the mechanism.

A pivotal bone anchor assembly includes a body member with upright arms defining a channel for receiving a fixation rod, an axial bore having a bottom opening, a lower interior surface disposed about the bottom opening, and a downwardly facing recessed surface above the lower interior surface. The assembly also includes a shank comprising a partial spherical head positionable into the axial bore and an anchor portion for attachment to the bone. The assembly further includes a bushing insertable into the axial bore having an outer surface configured to resiliently snap under the downwardly facing surface so as to inhibit the bushing from moving upward in the axial bore, and a lower surface configured for biased engagement with the partial spherical head of the bone anchor, with the biased engagement providing a pre-lock press fitment about the partial spherical head so that the bone anchor and body member do not move freely with respect to each other prior to insert and securement of the fixation rod.
