Techniques for correcting gradient non-linearity bias in mean diffusivity measurements by MRI systems are shown and include minimal number of spatial correction terms to achieve sufficient error control using three orthogonal diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) gradients. The correction is based on rotation of system gradient nonlinearity tensor into a DWI gradient frame where spatial bias of b-matrix is described by its Euclidian norm. The techniques obviate time consuming multi-direction acquisition and noise-sensitive mathematical diagonalization of a full diffusion tensor for medium of arbitrary anisotropy.

Error analysis and correction of MRI ADC measurements for gradient nonlinearity

A magnetic resonance imaging system () includes a sequence control unit (), a sampling unit (), and a control unit (). The sequence control unit () controls a magnetic resonance scanner () to acquire compressed magnetic resonance data from an imaged region of a subject. The sampling unit () determines a change in a concentration of a contrast agent present in the image region of the subject based on magnetic resonance signals received by a radio frequency receiver. The control unit () adjusts a degree of compression of the acquired magnetic resonance data based on the determination made by the sampling unit ().

Adaptive keyhole compression for dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI

The present invention provides systems and methods for monitoring tissue regions. In particular, the present invention provides systems and methods for detecting changes in tissue regions over a period of time. In some embodiments, the systems and methods of the present invention are used to evaluate the effectiveness of a particular treatment of a tissue region. In some embodiments, the systems and methods of the present invention provide a parametric response map approach for detecting and analyzing changes in tissue regions over a period of time to detect and monitor disease or tissue health and to monitor the impact of therapeutic interventions.

Systems and methods for imaging changes in tissue

A voxel-based technique is provided for performing quantitative imaging and analysis of tissue image data. Serial image data is collected for tissue of interest at different states of the issue. The collected image data may be normalized, after which the registered image data is analyzed on a voxel-by-voxel basis, thereby retaining spatial information for the analysis. Various thresholds are applied to the registered tissue data to predict or determine the evolution of a disease state, such as brain cancer, for example.

Imaging system, computer, program product and method for detecting changes in rates of water diffusion in a tissue using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

A 3DFT MRA dynamic study is performed using a contrast agent to enhance image contrast. A monitor pulse sequence is performed at a high temporal rate to monitor the magnitude of the NMR signal produced in a monitor region after the contrast agent is injected into the patient. When the monitor signal reaches a threshold value, the patient is signaled and the 3DFT image data set is acquired.
