A hearing device has an acceleration sensor that measure along three mutually perpendicular measurement axis. A movement of the hearing aid wearer is deduced from acceleration data of the acceleration sensor issued in an acceleration signal, a movement plane of the movement of the hearing aid wearer is derived from the acceleration data, a movement axis and a movement direction of the movement are ascertained from the acceleration data, and the presence of a rotational movement of the head is deduced on the basis of the movement plane, the movement axis and the movement direction. A direction of view probability distribution is created from the detected rotational movements, in particular on the basis of a yaw angle ascertained in the process. The direction of view probability distribution specifies a probability that the actual direction of view of the hearing aid wearer extends along an assigned angle.

Method of operating a hearing device, and hearing device

In a method for the environment-dependent operation of a hearing system values for a first plurality of environmental data of a first user of the hearing system are determined each time in a training phase for survey times, and the values of the environmental data for each of the survey times are used to form respectively a feature vector in an at least four-dimensional feature space. Each of the feature vectors is mapped respectively onto a corresponding representative vector in a maximum three-dimensional representation space, and a spatial distribution of a subgroup of representative vectors is used to define a first region in the representation space for a first environmental situation of the hearing system. A value of a setting for signal processing of the hearing system is specified for the first environmental situation, and the hearing system is operated with the value set in this way.

Method for the environment-dependent operation of a hearing system and hearing system

A hearing device has an acceleration sensor that is positioned on the head of a hearing device wearer in the intended worn state, is configured for measurement in two mutually orthogonal measurement axes and is operated by virtue of at least one main feature related to an acceleration directed tangentially in relation to the head being derived from an acceleration signal of the acceleration sensor. The at least one main feature is used to ascertain a presence of a yaw movement of the head by taking into consideration at least one prescribed criterion, derivable from the acceleration signal itself, beyond the presence of an acceleration value of the tangentially directed acceleration that is indicative of a movement.
