A drug injection device comprising: a cartridge configured to hold a volume of a drug; one or more processors configured to operate in at least an enabled state and a sleep state, wherein the one or more processors are configured to control an operation of the drug injection device while the one or more processors are in the enabled state; a member disposed in the cartridge, the member including at least two conductive surfaces electrically connected to the one or more processors; and a drive mechanism including a conductive element spaced from the at least two conductive surfaces, wherein the one or more processors are configured to enter the enabled state from the sleep state when the conductive element makes electrical contact with the at least two conductive surfaces.

Conserving power in an injection device

Implantable device for measuring the glucose concentration of a body fluid when implanted, the implantable device comprising a glucose measurement unit, the glucose measurement unit comprising a first light source configured to emit light towards a light transmissive part of a housing of the device and a first optical sensor configured to detect light returned through the light transmissive part from the first light source, and output a first electrical signal based on the detected light; and a wireless communication module configured to wirelessly communicate with an external wireless communication device, wherein the wireless communication module is configured to wirelessly transmit a signal based on the first electrical signal to the external wireless communication device.

Implantable glucose monitor

The present disclosure relates to an information system, a method of providing information, and a respective electronic device. The electronic device is operable to provide an information to a user being indicative of a user device. The electronic device comprises: a processor to process a user request, a user interface to communicate with the user, and an electronic storage connected to the processor. The processor is operable: to extract at least one keyword from the user request, to select at least one information content from a content database on the basis of the at least one extracted keyword, and to provide the at least one selected information content to the user via the user interface.

Implementations of the present disclosure are directed to a module for attachment to an injection device that includes a flexible carrier foil configured to be attached to a surface of the injection device independent of a geometry of the surface, at least one light emitting diode attached to the flexible carrier foil in a first position and configured to emit a light signal in a direction based on the first position through a transparent wall of the injection device, at least one photodiode attached to the flexible carrier foil in a second position relative to the first position, the at least one photodiode being configured to detect at least a portion of the light signal from a direction based on the second position and being configured to emit an electrical signal based on the light signal to a microprocessor, and wherein the microprocessor is configured to receive the electrical signal emitted by the photodiode and to determine the position of a stopper and the amount of the fluid within the injection device based at least in part on the electrical signal.

Flexible modules for injection devices

An injection device for administering a dose of a liquid medicament includes an elongated housing having a dispensing end and being configured to accommodate a cartridge filled with the liquid medicament, a drive mechanism configured to operably engage with the cartridge for expelling of a dose of the medicament from the cartridge via the dispensing end, a protective cap releasably attachable to the housing to cover the dispensing end, a first electronic circuit attached to the protective cap and electrically connected to at least a first cap electrode arranged on the protective cap, and a second electronic circuit arranged inside the housing, coupled to the drive mechanism and electrically connected to at least a first housing electrode that is located on the housing.

Injection device

A data collection device comprises at least two optical sensors configured to detect tick marks of a medicament dose indicator of the medicament delivery device in their respective detection areas, and a processing arrangement configured to determine a current medicament dosage programmed into said medicament delivery device based on a count of the tick marks that pass through the detection areas of the optical sensors during programming of said medicament dosage into said medicament delivery device. A direction of travel of the tick marks may be identified, to determine whether the programmed dosage is increasing or decreasing. The apparatus may be arranged to identify a baseline dosage amount using a camera image of the medicament dosage indicator, so that a starting point for the count of tick marks can be determined. The medicament delivery device may be an injector pen.

A sensor device to be attached to a drug delivery device includes an array of conducting elements each forming part of a respective resonant circuit and each operable to have a signal applied to it. The drug delivery device has a first movable element supporting a conductive region, which is configured to move along a path parallel to a longitudinal axis of the drug delivery device. When the sensor device is attached to the drug delivery device, the conducting elements are arranged such that each resonant circuit is operable to output a signal indicative of the proximity of the conductive region supported on the first moveable element to the respective conducting element of each resonant circuit. The sensor device includes circuitry to receive the signals output from the resonant circuit and, based on the received signals, determines information associated with a location along the path of the first movable element.

Sensor device for a drug delivery device

A container for an injectable medicament can include an elongated body having a tubular-shaped sidewall extending along a longitudinal axis and having a distal end and a proximal end. The container can include an outlet at the distal end. The container can include a bung arranged inside the elongated body, sealingly engaged with the sidewall and slidable along the longitudinal axis relative to the sidewall. The container can include an interior volume to receive the injectable medicament and being confined by the sidewall, the outlet, and the bung. The container can include a measuring arrangement arranged in or on the bung. The measuring arrangement can include a signal generator configured to emit an electromagnetic measurement signal into or through the interior volume and a signal receiver configured to detect a feedback signal being indicative of an interaction of the measurement signal with at least one of the sidewall, the outlet or the interior volume.

The disclosure refers to a medical device comprising a measurement unit adapted to measure a value of a physiological parameter, for example a blood glucose level, an energy storage unit providing energy supply for the measurement unit, an NFC antenna, an energy supply unit that controls the NFC antenna such that in the presence of an electromagnetic field of a pre-defined frequency range energy is withdrawn from the electromagnetic field surrounding the NFC antenna and stored in the energy storage unit, a charge control unit adapted to determine the electric charge contained in the energy storage unit, and a communication unit adapted to output a pre-defined visible, audible and/or tactile signal if the electric charge contained in the energy storage unit determined by the charge control unit is equal to or below a pre-defined minimum charge value.

A container for an injectable medicament is provided. The container can include an elongated body having a tubular-shaped sidewall extending along a longitudinal axis and having a distal end and a proximal end. The container can include an outlet at the distal end and a bung arranged inside the elongated body, sealingly engaged with the sidewall and slidable along the longitudinal axis relative to the sidewall. The container can include an interior volume to receive the injectable medicament and being confined by the sidewall, the outlet, and the bung. The container can include a measuring arrangement arranged in or on the bung. The measuring arrangement can include a signal generator configured to emit a measurement signal into or through the interior volume, the measurement signal being capable to stimulate or to excite a resonance of the container. The measuring arrangement can include a signal detector configured to detect a feedback signal indicative of a resonating interaction of the measurement signal with at least one of the sidewall, the outlet or the interior volume.

Analyte measurement devices and methods of measuring an analyte in a sample. At least one of the methods include: applying an electrical analysis signal to the sample during a measurement time interval (MT), wherein the electrical analysis signal, when transferred into a frequency space, comprises a superposition of two or more non-zero frequency components at least at a sampling time; measuring at least one electrical response signal from the sample; analyzing the electrical response signal; and determining the amount of the analyte in the sample based on the analyzing.

The present disclosure relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a medicament receiving element, at least one fluid chamber having a fluid outlet configured to direct fluid vapour towards the medicament receiving element, a heating element for heating the fluid in the at least one fluid chamber. The device is configured such that, in use, the heating element heats the fluid in the at least one fluid chamber to at least partially evaporate the fluid so that the vapor pressure in the at least one fluid chamber increases until the fluid is expelled out of the at least one fluid chamber through the fluid outlet towards the medicament receiving element and entrains the medicament towards the patient's skin.
