Disk brake including a brake caliper and an application device arranged therein for applying force to the brake pads of the disk brake, wherein a component of the application device is a brake lever which can be actuated by a force element and preferably by a pressure cylinder and is composed of a lever arm against which the force element is supported and an application shaft. The application shaft is supported, on one side, against a pressure piece operating in the direction of the brake pads and, on the other side, with the interposition of a shell, against a channel arranged on the inside of the brake caliper, wherein the curvature of the shell is complementary to the curvature of the channel. In order to develop the disk brake and the shell assembly by constructive measures so as to prevent the shell assembly from moving out of the original position even in the case of long-term use and under frequent load caused by braking, an opening of a bore is located in the channel.

The invention proposes a disc brake having a brake caliper () and a tensioning device arranged therein for applying force to the brake linings of the disc brake, wherein part of the tensioning device is a brake lever () which can be actuated by a force element and preferably by a compressed air cylinder. The brake lever is composed of a lever arm (), against which the force element is supported, and a brake application shaft (), which is supported against a pressure piece () acting towards the brake linings, and is also supported from the inside against the brake caliper, wherein the brake caliper () and the brake application shaft () face each other and are formed as shells () in which a supporting roller () with a roller axis (A) running transverse to the tensioning direction (Z) is mounted. To keep the mutual movability of the parts involved low by the simplest measures possible and without the need for additional parts, the supporting roller () is supported with the lateral surface (A) thereof directly in one of the two shells () and is designed to be non-rotatable or have only limited rotational movement with respect to this shell. The supporting roller () also serves as a means to centre the brake lever () laterally in the brake caliper. A supporting roller particularly suited to these purposes is also to be created.

The invention relates to an adjustment mechanism for a vehicle disk brake, which is provided with an adjustment device for compensating the operation-induced wear on the brake linings and the brake disk, wherein the adjustment device has the following components: &#x2014;a drive element () which is rotatably arranged within the housing of the disk brake on an axis (A) parallel to the axis of rotation of the brake disk and which can be set in rotation by a brake application device; &#x2014;a shaft () which is arranged centrally on the axis (A), on which the drive element () is rotatably mounted; &#x2014;a cardanic rotary bearing () which supports the shaft () in an opening (A) of the housing in a pendulum-like manner and which is made at least partially of a deformable rubber or elastomer ring () and a steel ring () which is attached therein. In order to further develop the mentioned adjustment mechanism so that it can be produced more economically and requires only a small number of components, the steel ring () is supported in a sliding manner against a cylindrical bearing section () of the shaft (), and a coupling consisting of a first coupling part (), which is rotationally fixed to the shaft (), and a second coupling part (), which is rotationally fixed to the steel ring (), is arranged on the axis (A), the second coupling part being a coupling ring () which is rotatably mounted on the shaft (). The invention further relates to a corresponding cardanic rotary bearing () and a corresponding coupling ring ().

Adjustment mechanism for a vehicle disk brake as well as a cardanic rotary bearing and a coupling ring therefor

A disk brake is proposed for a vehicle, preferably a commercial vehicle, having a brake caliper, a brake application device, an adjusting device, a brake lever, and a mechanism which couples the brake lever to the drive element. The brake caliper engages over a brake disk and brake linings on both sides of the brake disk. The brake application device can be actuated by way of a force element, preferably a pneumatic force element. The adjusting device compensates for the brake lining and brake disk wear. The adjusting device is arranged on an adjusting axis which extends in the brake application direction, and is provided with a drive element which can be rotated about the adjusting axis.

A bearing is described that has a first race on a lever side that is curved in a partially cylindrical manner. The bearing has a second race on a pressure piece side that is curved in a partially cylindrical manner. Rolling elements are present that roll on both the first and second races and are grouped together in a bearing cage. A radial projection, which is fixed in terms of rotation relative to the second race and forms a stop which limits the mobility of the bearing cage in one circumferential direction, is present. A pocket or opening, which is arranged in the first race or extends partially into the first race, is also present.

A braking device for wheels of vehicles such as trailers includes a caliper in which brake linings are guided. Between these linings, at least one brake disk is displaceably held on driving toothing of a wheel hub. A pneumatically operable mechanical adjusting device interacts with the brake linings. The braking device includes at least one brake disk in a caliper which is fixed. On one end, the caliper is connected by a fastening element with an axle element of the vehicle. On the caliper, an enclosing housing for bearing the adjusting device is held. By way of a bearing plate, the adjusting device is also supported on the caliper. Pressure pistons of the device are guided by a one-part yoke in a jointly axially adjustable manner and can be acted upon by pressure with respect to the brake linings and the brake disks.
