Methods, systems, and devices are described for adjusting at least one channel parameter based on accessed historical channel information associated with mobility patterns of a mobile device. In some examples, a mobile device or a base station may access historical channel information associated with mobility patterns of the mobile device or another mobile device. The mobility patterns may include information relative to a particular time and location of a mobile device, a previously traveled route by a mobile device, etc. Based on the historical channel information associated with the mobility patterns, the mobile device or the base station may adjust a channel parameter to improve communication performance across the particular channel.

Adapting mobile device behavior using predictive mobility

Methods, systems, and devices are described for predicting a current random access transmission power detectable by a base station based on historical transmission power information. In one aspect, a mobile device may access a historical transmission power associated with a current state of the mobile device, with the historical transmission power based on mobility patterns of the mobile device. Based at least in part on the accessed historical transmission power, the mobile device may predict a current random access transmission power of the mobile device, where the predicted current random access transmission power is configured to elicit a random access response from a base station. In one aspect, the techniques described herein may reduce a number of power ramp steps taken by the mobile device during a random access procedure, reduce interference from the mobile device during the random access procedure, or both based on the predicted current random access transmission power.

Random access using predictive mobility

Methods, systems, and devices are described for managing wireless communications. In the methods, systems, and devices, historical information associated with mobility patterns of a mobile device may be accessed. A mobility parameter may be modified for at least one neighboring cell of a set of neighboring cells for measurement by the mobile device. The mobility parameter may be modified based on the historical information associated with the mobility patterns of the mobile device.

Handover and reselection searching using predictive mobility

In a particular embodiment, a method includes receiving a user input at a first display surface of an electronic device to move a graphical user interface element displayed at the first display surface. The electronic device includes a second display surface separated from the first display surface by a gap. The method also includes determining that at least a portion of the graphical user interface element is to be moved beyond an edge of the first display surface into the gap such that the at least a portion of the graphical user element will not be displayed at the first display surface. The method further includes displaying the at least a portion of the graphical user interface element at the second display surface based on a location and a direction of movement of the graphical user interface element at the first display surface.

Method for indicating location and direction of a graphical user interface element

Force feedback in a gaming controller is provided by a motion induction device having an untethered mass. The mass is accelerated and decelerated to provide directional force feedback to a user of the gaming controller. The forces may be applied in a game controller shaped to simulate a tennis racquet, baseball bat, gun, steering wheel, or golf club. A sensor may be included in the game controller to provide information for adapting the force feedback. For example, in a game controller simulating a golf club an accelerometer may measure the speed and motion of the golf club, and the game controller provides force feedback through the motion induction device to simulate impact with a golf club or train a user to swing in a desired motion.

Inducing force into a non-anchored gaming device

In a particular embodiment, a method includes detecting a hardware configuration change at an electronic device. The electronic device includes at least a first panel having a first display surface and a second panel having a second display surface. An effective screen size or a screen resolution corresponding to a viewing area that includes the first display surface and the second display surface is modified in response to the hardware configuration change. The method also includes sending at least one parameter associated with or based on the modified effective screen size or the modified screen resolution to a server.

A method is disclosed that includes detecting a change in an inclination at a panel of an electronic device. The panel has a display surface. The method also includes detecting a rotation of the panel from a first orientation to a second orientation. The method also includes automatically redrawing an image displayed at the display surface responsive to the rotation when the change in the inclination of the panel does not exceed a threshold during the rotation.

Mobile device with an inclinometer

A multi-panel device with a configurable interface is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the device includes a hinge rotatably coupled to a first panel of the device via a first pin and rotatably coupled to a second panel of the device via a second pin. The first pin is engaged within a slot of the first panel to enable a lateral movement of the first panel relative to the second panel such that the first panel has a first range of motion relative to the second panel when the hinge is in an extended configuration and a second range of motion when the hinge is in a retracted configuration. The first range of motion is larger than the second range of motion.

Multi-panel device with configurable interface

Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable storage media for displaying an image at an electronic device are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, an electronic device is disclosed that includes a first panel having a first display surface to display a graphical user interface element associated with an application. The electronic device also includes a second panel having a second display surface. The first display surface is separated from the second display surface by a gap. A processor is configured to execute program code including a graphical user interface. The processor is configured to launch or close the application in response to user input causing a movement of the graphical user interface element in relation to the gap.

Multi-panel electronic device

A multi-panel device is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the device includes a first hinge coupled to a first panel and coupled to a second panel. The first panel includes a first display surface and the second panel includes a second display surface. The second hinge is coupled to the second panel and coupled to a third panel that includes a third display surface. The device also includes a sensor coupled to the first hinge to detect a relative orientation of the first panel to the second panel. The device includes a processor responsive to the sensor to detect a device configuration. The processor is configured to adjust a user interface displayed at the first display surface, the second display surface, and the third display surface based on the detected device configuration.

A multi-fold mobile device with a configurable interface is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, a method includes detecting a hardware configuration change from a first configuration to a second configuration at an electronic device that includes at least a first panel having a first display surface and a second panel having a second display surface. The hardware configuration change includes a change in a relative orientation of the first display panel to the second display panel. The method also includes automatically modifying a graphical user interface displayed at the first display surface and the second display surface at least partially based on the second configuration.
