A computer-implemented method of generating faster and more efficient database query execution plans includes receiving a database query, generating an optimized query execution plan, and initiating execution of the optimized plan. Database can include table columns with associated column dictionaries. Database query can have statements with conditions. Generating the optimized query execution plan involves comparing contents of a column dictionary semantics of the statements, omitting statements which will always be TRUE and omitting conditions which will always be FALSE. A computer implemented method is represented for providing to a user a context menu with entries representing relationships. The relationships are applicable to relate objects selected from a set of objects. The method comprises following method operations: receiving a first identification of a first selected object from the set of objects, receiving a second identification of a second selected object from the set of objects, identifying object types of the selected objects in a plurality of object types, determining one or more relationship types of which one or more relationships are applicable to the selected objects by using the identified object types, and generating for the context menu an entry representing a relationship of the one or more relationship types, wherein the relationship is selectable by the user to be created between the selected objects.

The selection conditions relate to a determination of when component variants are to be included in a configurable product. The method and system may involve receiving relationship information for component variants at a first node level of the node structure, and determining what combinations may be formed from the component variants based on the relationship information. The method and system may further involve forming assembly variants corresponding to the combinations, at a second node level higher than the first node level, and forming selection conditions corresponding to the assembly variants based on selection conditions corresponding to the component variants.

Method and system for automatically generating selection conditions in a product configuration system

A system and method of receiving orders, placing orders in an order matrix, determining potential production periods for an order, rescheduling orders, and generating a bill of materials. The method receives an order having one or more tokens out of a set of possible tokens. Each token is a combination of a characteristic and a value of the characteristic. The orders are placed in an order matrix. An order restriction matrix for the orders is generated based on certain selection conditions. The method then examines the restrictions that apply to the order and derives an order derived production restriction matrix for the order, which is evaluated to determine possible production periods for the order. The order matrix may also be used to generate a bill of materials.
