There is provided a method and system for creating and displaying a map projection of a device's real-time viewing area to depict virtual objects, the virtual objects providing a reflected view of real-time objects displayed within the device's viewing area, the method comprising: displaying a real-time image of the device's viewing area taken from a geographical location on a display; retrieving the map projection for revealing the reflected view as an elevated view of a ground surface about the device's current geographical location and in accordance with the device's viewing area; superimposing the map projection on the display and overlaid in an upper portion of the real-time image; and defining one or more markers configured to show a relationship between the map projection and the real-time image, each marker overlaid on the display and configured to connect between the virtual object in the map projection and the corresponding real-time object on the real-time image.

System and method for creating and displaying map projections related to real-time images

A system and method for configuring the presentation of a plurality of presentation elements in a visual representation on a user interface, the presentation elements having both temporal and spatial parameters, the method comprising the steps of: defining a time bar with a time scale having time indicators as subdivisions of the time scale and having a first global temporal limit and a second temporal global limit of the time scale for defining a temporal domain of the presentation elements, defining a focus range of the time bar such that the focus range has a first local temporal limit and a second local temporal limit wherein the first local temporal limit is greater than or equal to the first global temporal limit and the second local temporal limit is less than or equal to the second global temporal limit; defining a focus bar having a focus time scale having focus time indicators as subdivisions of the focus time scale and having the first and second local temporal limits as the extents of the focus time scale, such that the focus time scale is an expansion of the time scale; and displaying a set of presentation elements selected from the plurality of presentation elements based on the respective temporal parameter of each of the set of presentation elements is within the first and second local temporal limits.

System and method for visualizing connected temporal and spatial information as an integrated visual representation on a user interface

A system and method for generating a region in an air-space environment for presentation in a visual representation. The region is configured for positioning in an aerial domain of the environment coupled to an adjacent reference domain of the environment. The system comprises a control element generator configured for providing a plurality of control elements of the region, wherein the plurality of control elements are distributed in the air-space environment such that each of the plurality of control elements is coupled to a respective coordinate associated with the reference domain the system and method also have a link generator configured for providing a plurality of link elements of the region for linking each of the control elements to one another to define a plurality of bounding surfaces of the region, and an edit module for adjusting at least one presentation property of the region.

System and method for interactive 3D air regions

A system and method is provided for coordinating display of synchronized spatial information and time-variant information on a visual interface as a visual representation of a multi-dimensional planned process. The system and method comprise a data store configured for storing the time-variant information, such that the data store is further configured for storing the spatial information as a plurality of data elements for representing visual elements for display in the visual representation with respect to a reference surface. Each of the visual elements is operatively coupled to at least one sequenced element of a plurality of sequenced elements. The system and method also include a synchronization module coupled to the data store and is configured for synchronizing a displayed state on the visual interface of the spatial information with a displayed state on the visual interface of the time-variant information. The time-variant information includes timeline data including at least two of the plurality of sequenced elements having overlapping time spans with respect to a common temporal reference frame, and includes a marker for facilitating navigation of the plurality of sequenced elements with respect to the common temporal reference frame. Changes in the displayed state of the time-variant information are reflected in changes to the displayed state of the spatial information.

System and method for data visualization using a synchronous display of sequential time data and on-map planning

A system and method for analyzing a plurality of data elements having both temporal and spatial properties, where a first data element and a second data element of the plurality of data elements are linked by at least one association element. The system and method include selecting the first data element from the plurality of data elements and providing at least one search criteria for use in analyzing the properties of the plurality of data elements with respect to at least one property of the first data element. An analysis module is used to apply the at least one search criteria to the properties of the plurality of data elements for identifying the second data element from the plurality of data elements and the corresponding at least one association element. The at least one association element is configured for representing a connection between the first data element and the second data element, such that the connection has a first property common to a property of the first data element and a second property common to a property of the second data element. A visualization module is used to generate a visual representation of the first and second data elements and the association element configured for display on a user interface for subsequent interaction with user events. The visual representation includes a spatial domain including a reference surface for providing a spatial reference frame having at least two spatial dimensions and a temporal domain operatively coupled to the spatial domain for providing a common temporal reference frame for locations of interest in the spatial domain.

System and method for applying link analysis tools for visualizing connected temporal and spatial information on a user interface

A system includes a visualization manager for assembling the group of data elements and for assigning a connection visual element in the visual representation between a first visual element representing a first data element of the group and a second visual element representing a second data element of the group. The system also has a spatial visualization component configured for generating a spatial domain of the visual representation to include a reference surface for providing a spatial reference frame having at least two spatial dimensions. The reference surface is for relating the first visual element to a first location of interest in the spatial reference frame and for relating the second visual element to a second location of interest in the spatial reference frame. The system also has a temporal visualization component configured for generating a temporal domain of the visual representation operatively coupled to the spatial domain, the temporal domain for providing a common temporal reference frame for the locations of interest. The temporal domain includes a first time track, such as a timeline, coupled to the first location of interest and a second time track coupled to the second location of interest, such that the first visual element is positioned on the first time track and the second visual element is positioned on the second time track. Each of the time tracks are configured for visually representing a respective temporal sequence of a plurality of the data elements at each of the locations of interest of the reference surface.
