In one aspect of the invention, a bearing retention assembly is provided. The assembly includes a bearing set having an annular outer race ring. The outer race ring has a plurality of circumferentially spaced cam chamfers on at least one outer circular edge. The assembly also includes a bearing housing for capturing the bearing set. The bearing housing includes at least one integral securing member for interfering with and engaging at least one cam chamfer for axially and rotatably securing the outer race ring relative to the housing.

A scroll compressor (,) includes a housing (,) with a stationary scroll member (,) mounted therein and a swivel scroll member (,) positioned in the housing and cooperating with the stationary scroll member to form a compression chamber (,). A thrust bearing has a first bearing ring (,) for attachment to the housing (,) and having a plurality of circular bearing races (,), a second bearing ring (,) for attachment to the swivel scroll member (,) and having a plurality of circular bearing races (,), and a plurality of balls (,) retained between the rings in associated pairs of the races. The races can have rounded tip (,), pointed tip (,), plateau (,) or flat center (,) portions. The first bearing ring (,) can have a thickness (C) different than a thickness (D) of the second earing ring.

Orbital motion bearing

A scroll compressor includes a compressor housing and an orbiting scroll member, and includes an annular plate between the housing and orbiting scroll member. The plate has an axial aperture provided therethrough, the plate abuts one of the housing and orbiting scroll member. A pin projects through the aperture of the plate and is engaged with the member abutting the plate. A projection is provided on the ring, housing or orbiting scroll member for preventing axial displacement of the pin relative to the plate axially away from the abutting member.

Compressor ring attachment

A plate-fin heat exchanger 10 is disclosed including a plurality of flat tubes 14 interleaved with a plurality of fin members 16. The flat tubes 14 are formed from a plurality of plate members 12. The heat exchanger 10 also includes a plurality of fin members 16 and a pair of fluid manifolds 22, 24. The manifolds 22, 24 are formed as one-piece members having a flange formed between the ends. The flange is brazed directly to the endsheet of the evaporator.
