Wireless communications systems and methods related to wireless communications in a system are provided. A user equipment (UE) may determine a plurality of antenna configurations for a plurality of channel frequencies. The UE may determine a set of signal strengths for at least one beam received at one or more antenna configurations of the plurality of antenna configurations for at least one of the channel frequencies. The UE may select, based on the set of signal strengths, a first antenna configuration of the plurality of antenna configurations. After selection of the first antenna configuration, the UE may communicate with a base station, in one or more channel frequencies based on the first antenna configuration.

Antenna configuration selection for user equipment

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for adapting search, measurement, and loop tracking periodicities in new radio communications. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining, based on one or more parameters, a first periodicity to perform a search to detect one or more component carriers (CCs), cells, beams, or a combination thereof; a second periodicity to perform measurement of one or more cells, beams, or both in one more detected CCs; and a third periodicity to perform loop tracking to monitor a downlink serving quality, an uplink serving beam quality, or both of a cell. The method may further includes performing the search at the determined first periodicity, measurement at the determined second periodicity, and loop tracking at the determined third periodicity.

Adapting search, measurement, and loop tracking periodicities in new radio communications

Various embodiments include methods for autonomous beam switching by a wireless device. A processor of the wireless device may measure signal parameters of signals received from a first synchronization signal block (SSB) beam of a base station monitored by the wireless device and other SSB beams of the base station, determine whether a difference in measured signal parameters of signals received from the first SSB beam and another SSB beam of the base station satisfies a signal quality difference threshold, and autonomously switching to the second SSB beam as the serving beam in response to determining that the difference in the measured signal parameters of signals received from the first SSB beam and a second SSB beam satisfies the signal quality difference threshold. The signal quality difference threshold may be listed in a table in memory or determined via machine learning.

Various aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques for handling out-of-order grants. For example, upon detection of an out-of-order grant, the best scheduling policy for handling the out-of-order grants may be selected based on at least one traffic condition. In some aspects, a scheduling policy may involve canceling and regenerating out-of-order grants. In some aspects, a scheduling policy may involve reordering data units. In some aspects, a scheduling policy may involve designating a reorder time window.

Scheduling policies for out-of-order grants

A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium at a transmitting user equipment (UE) in a distributed cellular vehicle-to-everything environment are disclosed to determine a schedule for transmissions on subchannels of multiple frequencies based on a set of UE-specific, dynamic, and performance related metrics or criteria. The metrics may include an estimated number of users on a subchannel, a best-bandwidth fit, channel loading conditions, transmission range, and quality requirements of an application, among others. Such a schedule for transmissions on subchannels of multiple frequencies may result in either an improved capacity utilization, an improved communication quality, or both.

Systems and methods for Carrier Sense Adaptive Transmission (CSAT) communication scheme identification and mitigation in unlicensed spectrum are disclosed. The identification may comprise, for example, identifying CSAT communication based on a presence of a first signal and an absence of a second signal of a Radio Access Technology (RAT) during a period of time. The mitigation may comprise, for example, limiting transmission of at least a first signal by the RAT on a resource for a period of time associated with an adaptable duty cycle used for the CSAT communication, and transmitting a second signal by the RAT on the resource during the period of time.

In wireless communication networks using carrier aggregation, a user equipment (UE) may monitor a downlink radio link quality of secondary cells for an event indicating failure of the communication link with the secondary cell. When a failure event is detected, the UE declares a failure state on the secondary cell. In response to the failure state, the UE may adjust operations related to the secondary component carrier in order to save power and resources.
