A polyester polymer is polymerized from an alcohol component including a diol and a polyol and an acid component including terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid, with the terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid present in a desired molar ratio. The polyester polymer also includes carboxylic acid functional groups, a weight average molecular weight (MW) of at least 5000 Daltons (Da), and an acid value (AV) of 40 to 65. The polyester polymer may be formulated into a water-based coating composition for substrates such as articles of cookware to form a coating that is highly heat resistant and flexible while also providing non-stick properties with good release.

Polyester polymer and polyester-based heat resistant coating for cookware or bakeware

Fluoropolymer compositions that include multiple fluoropolymer components and, in exemplary applications, may be applied as coatings to either rigid or flexible substrates. The compositions may themselves be applied as basecoats or overcoats, or may be combined with other components to formulate basecoats or overcoats. In one embodiment, the compositions include at least one low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene (LPTFE) and at least two chemically different melt processible fluoropolymers (MPF). In another embodiment, the compositions include at least one high molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene (HPTFE), at least one low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene (LPTFE), and at least two chemically different melt processible fluoropolymers (MPF). After being applied to a substrate, optionally over a basecoat and/or a midcoat and then cured, the present compositions form coatings that demonstrate improved characteristics, such as improved release characteristics, abrasion resistance, translucency/transparency, and permeability, for example.

Blended fluoropolymer compositions having multiple melt processible fluoropolymers

A substrate with a non stick surface which is obtained by sequentially applying on the substrate and curing of at least three coating layers. All coating layers comprise a fluorocarbon resin and some other resins, the basecoat layer and the topcoat layer comprise inorganic particles.

Composition for use as non-stick coating

Blended fluoropolymer compositions that, in one exemplary application, may be applied as a coating to a substrate and, optionally, may be applied to a substrate that has been previously coated with a primer or basecoat and/or a midcoat. In one embodiment, the composition is a blend of at least one high molecular weight trace modified polytetrafluoroethyelene (TMHPTFE) and at least one melt-processible fluoropolymer (MPF). After being applied to the substrate, optionally over a primer or basecoat and/or midcoat, and then cured, the present compositions form coatings that demonstrate improved abrasion resistance and/or improved release characteristics and/or increased translucency/transparency and/or improved impermeability. The present compositions may also be used to produce films having a high degree of clarity and impermeability. The present compositions in powder form may be melt or paste extruded to form articles with improved impermeability.

Fluoropolymer coating compositions

A non-stick coating composition comprising a waterborne phenoxy resin, a crosslinker, and a silicone compound. The coating is substantially free of fluorocarbon resin. An article, such as aluminum, may be coated with the composition. The composition may be multi-layers, but only the layers other than the first layer includes the silicone compound. The invention includes the method for applying the coating or coatings.

Non-stick coating composition

A non-stick coating composition comprising a waterborne phenoxy resin, a crosslinker, a silicone compound, and a Fluoropolymer. An article, such as aluminum, may be coated with the composition. The composition may be multi-layers, but only the layers other than the first layer includes the silicone compound. The invention includes the method for applying the coating or coatings.

Non-stick coatings for use on a flexible substrate include a fluoropolymer, an acrylic polymer, and a polyol and/or diol. The ratio of acrylic polymer to polyol and/or diol is between about 90:10 and about 10:90 by weight, preferably about 50:50. The ratio of acrylic polymer and polyol or diol to fluoropolymer is preferably about 100:60 by weight.

Non-stick coating and method of forming same

A non-stick coating includes fluoropolymer and electrically conductive mica. The coating may be used on rollers in printing machines to help dissipate static electricity.
