Various aspects of the disclosure relate to encoding information and decoding information. In some aspects, the disclosure relates to an encoder and a decoder for Polar codes with HARQ. If a first transmission of the encoder fails, information bits associated with a lower quality channel may be retransmitted. At the decoder, the resulting decoded retransmitted bits may be used to decode the first transmission by substituting the retransmitted bits for the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, to decode the first transmission, soft-combining is applied to the decoded retransmitted bits and the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, CRC bits for a first transmission may be split between a first subset of bits and a second subset of bits. In this case, the second subset of bits and the associated CRC bits may be used for a second transmission (e.g., a retransmission).

Encoding and decoding techniques

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first node may transmit a set of first values indicating a first estimated value at the first node and a first reliability value associated with the first estimated value, the set of first values being based at least in part on channel state information (CSI) associated with the first node and a set of user equipments (UEs). The first node may receive, from a set of second nodes, a set of second values indicating a second estimated value at the second node and a second reliability value associated with the second estimated value. The first node may transmit, to the set of second nodes, a set of third values indicating a third estimated value at the first node and a third reliability value associated with the third estimated value. In-network distributed processing for precoding and linear detection

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support modulation schemes for nonbinary polar coding. For example, the described techniques may enable a transmitting device to perform a modulation of a set of symbols (e.g., bit pairs) that are encoded using a nonbinary polar encoding scheme. For example, the transmitting device may map each symbol of a set of encoded symbols to a constellation point. Additionally, or alternatively, the transmitting device may convert the encoded symbols into strings of bits. The transmitting device may accordingly perform bit-to-constellation mapping of the resulting bitstring using an existing mapping scheme or by defining a new mapping scheme. A receiving device may demodulate a received message by performing a demodulation of the set of modulated symbols or bits (e.g., and by converting the bitstring into the set of information symbols).

Modulation schemes for nonbinary polar coding

The present disclosure provides self-decodable redundancy versions for a systematic code. An apparatus for wireless communications includes at least one processor coupled with a memory and comprising encoder circuitry configured to encode a set of information bits using a systematic code to generate an encoded bit stream with information bits and parity bits, and bit ordering circuitry configured to re-order bits in the encoded bit stream to distribute the information bits and the parity bits. The apparatus includes a transmitter configured to transmit the re-ordered bits in accordance with a radio technology via one or more antenna elements situated proximate the receiver.

Communication techniques with self-decodable redundancy versions (RVs) using systematic codes

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques generally provide for spatially coupled multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) signaling for a single codeword across multiple layers. A transmitting device may transmit, via multiple time-frequency resources using multiple spatial layers, a set of code blocks associated with a codeword. At a first time-frequency resource, each code block of a first subset of the set of code blocks may be mapped to a respective transmission layer, and at a second time-frequency resource, each code block of a second subset of the set of code blocks may be mapped to a respective transmission layer, where the second set of code blocks is staggered from the first set of code blocks. By staggering code blocks across multiple time-frequency resources, a receiving wireless device may cancel out interference of one or more previously decoded code blocks.

Techniques for spatially coupled multiple-input multiple-output signaling

A compression garment for a limb is disclosed. The garment can include a body portion and a spine portion. Each of the body and spine portions can have a plurality of bands (e.g. bands for adjusting tension of the garment). The spine portion can be releasably attached onto the body portion such that the spine portion is positionable at different locations on the body portion to adjust a width of the garment. The bands of the body portion and/or of the spine portion can be trimmable and include a detachable fastener, whereby as a result the band can be caused to move to a plurality of different positions to adjust the garment to a plurality of different sized limbs (e.g. different sized feet).

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems may support orbital angular momentum (OAM) communications. A transmitting network node may generate signals for transmission via a first circular antenna array that includes a first quantity of antenna subarrays. The transmitting network node may transmit the signals using the first circular antenna array and based on OAM vectors. The receiving network node may receive and decode the signals using a second circular antenna array that includes a second quantity of antenna subarrays and based on the OAM vectors. The OAM vectors may be based on a numerical relationship between the first quantity and the second quantity. The numerical relationship may include the first quantity being equal to a product of the second quantity and a non-integer rational number and a greatest common divisor of the first and second quantities being an integer greater than one.

Orbital angular momentum multiplexing based on a common factor between quantities of transmit and receive antenna subarrays

In a probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) system, a distribution matching (DM) component may receive a uniform bit sequence with equal probabilities, which may be converted into symbols with a desired probability distribution (e.g., Gaussian). For example, the probability distribution may use inner constellation points associated with a lower energy and/or power more frequently and outer constellation points associated with a higher energy and/or power less frequently. In general, the DM component may map binary bits to positive amplitudes with a non-uniform distribution according to a DM rate that is based at least in part on a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which may vary significantly in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel. Accordingly, some aspects described herein relate to configuring DM parameters and codeword and resource mappings in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel.

Configuration for probabilistic amplitude shaping system on spatial and frequency selective wireless channel

A transmitter is provided that shapes uniformly-distributed bits into a non-uniformly distributed bits according to a parity check matrix of a linear code such that a product of the parity check matrix and the non-uniformly distributed bits equals the uniformly-distributed bits. Similarly, receiver is provided that recovers the uniformly-distributed bits from the non-uniformly distributed bits through a multiplication of the non-uniformly-distributed bits with the parity check matrix.

Linear-code-based probabilistic shaping

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may perform distribution matching on at least a first subset of a set of bits, such as the bits of transport block. The distribution matching may include a variable-to-fixed (v2f) distribution matching procedure in which a ratio between a quantity of input bits to output interim symbols for the v2f distribution matching procedure is variable. The distribution matching include evaluating, after each instance of the v2f distribution matching procedure, whether additional bits remain for distribution matching, and if so, whether to perform an additional instance of the v2f distribution matching procedure or an alternative distribution matching procedure on the remaining bits. Corresponding techniques for a receiving device are also described, including distribution dematching techniques based on a v2f distribution dematching procedure.

Variable-to-fixed distribution matching for probabilistic constellation shaping in wireless communications

A wireless communication apparatus and method using probabilistic constellation shaping in connection with modulation. A wireless transmission device may determine a sequence of amplitude symbols from a sequence of information bits using a distribution matcher (DM) configured for probabilistic amplitude shaping. The device may further apply error correction coding to encode an information block corresponding to at least a portion of the sequence of amplitude symbols. And the device may generate a sequence of output symbols for transmission based on the encoded information block. The device may apply interleaving to one or more of the sequence of amplitude symbols, the information block, the encoded information block, or a combination of the sequence of amplitude symbols and the encoded information block, for the generating of the sequence of output symbols.

Interleaver for constellation shaping

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes having pairwise orthogonality of adjacent rows, and a new decoder that exploits the pairwise row orthogonality for flexible decoder scheduling without performance loss. An apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive a codeword in accordance with a radio technology across a wireless channel via one or more antenna elements situated proximal the receiver. The apparatus includes at least one processor coupled with a memory and comprising decoder circuitry configured to decode the codeword based on a LDPC code to produce a set of information bits. The LDPC code is stored in the memory and defined by a base matrix having columns in which all adjacent rows are orthogonal in a last portion of the rows.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may perform a lifting procedure on a base graph including multiple variable nodes and multiple check nodes to obtain a lifted graph. The lifting procedure may include replacing each edge between multiple variable nodes and multiple check nodes of the base graph with a respective identity matrices with respective circular shift values. The base graph may include a punctured variable node which corresponds to each of one or more check nodes of the plurality of check nodes via multiple edges. The transmitting device may encode multiple information nodes and multiple parity nodes according to the lifted graph.
