A raceway structure which is fixedly attached to and extends longitudinally along one horizontally extending edge of a panel assembly. The raceway structure includes a U-shaped channel member which resiliently but releasably snaps into engagement with longitudinally spaced supports which are fixed to and project downwardly from the bottom frame rail of the panel. The supports occupy only minimal space within the channel member. The raceway channel member is provided with increased height relative to its width to provide upper and lower interior channel regions which accommodate power and telecommunication cabling systems. The supports are releasably engaged with upper edges of the channel member and provide the primary support for securing the channel member to the panel. The supports also provide a support or backing for the side covers of the channel member at a location disposed vertically intermediate upper and lower edges thereof so that the side covers, even with their increased vertical extent, retain their desired flat vertical configuration and can withstand side impacts which are typically imposed thereon.

Raceway construction for panel

An interior upright space-dividing wall system wherein portable upright panel assemblies are connected to one another through upright support posts, the latter having a foot for engagement with a floor. Each panel assembly includes a vertically elongate frame member which defines an upright end edge of the respective panel assembly and supports a panel connector member for joining the panel assembly to the support post. The panel connector members include upper and lower jaw members which engage in corresponding openings in a side wall of the support post. The support post includes a pair of connectors at a lower end thereof, each of which supports a lower end of one of the panel assemblies.

Post-panel connector arrangement

A lateral file cabinet includes an enclosure defined by top and bottom walls and first and second side walls which are spaced apart to define a hollow interior. The bottom wall includes a base panel formed of a wood fiber material such as particle board or chip board and the side walls include horizontal inward opening channels which receive opposite side edges of the base panel to define a structurally rigid connection therebetween. The base panel has a relatively high density which provides sufficient weight so as to completely or partially counter-balance the weight of a loaded file drawer to eliminate or reduce the weight of a separate counter-weight.

A method of using a work station having separate front and back tops having separate powered drive arrangements for permitting independent height adjustment. A controller, which is programmed by an operator, permits storage of a number of predetermined height locations each defining distinct heights for both tops. The operator effects programmed movement of the tops to predetermined height locations for predetermined times and in a predetermined sequence, with the rear top moving initially and the front top moving thereafter.

Method of controlling height adjustable work station

A work station, particularly for supporting a computer, having separate front and back tops having separate powered drive arrangements for permitting independently height adjustment. The drive arrangement includes a separate drive motor associated with each top, with the motors being controlled by a controller, such as a microprocessor. The controller is preferably controlled by an operator using a portable keypad control which can be positioned on one of the tops. The controller can be programmed by the operator to permit storage of a number of predetermined height locations each defining distinct heights for both tops.
