A distributed server system may include a primary manager, one or more backup managers communicatively coupled to the primary manager, and one or more workers communicatively coupled to the one or more backup managers. The one or more backup managers may receive a command to backup the state of the distributed server system. The backup managers may forward work tasks to the one or more communicatively coupled workers. The backup managers may further aggregate responses received from the one or more communicatively coupled workers and send the aggregated response to the primary manager.

An electrical cord plug assembly for inhibiting the removal of an inserted male electrical cord plug having at least one exposed electrical contact is disclosed. The device comprises a housing, a retention member, a biasing member, and a user actuation member. The retention member is movable between an engaged position, where the retention member engages an opening in the electrical contact of the male plug, and a disengaged position where the retention member disengages from the opening. The biasing member biases the retention member towards the engaged position. In the engaged position, the male plug is substantially inhibited from removal from the plug assembly. The actuation member engages the biasing member so as to allow a user to move the retention member to the disengaged position.

Electrical cord plug assembly

A hand-held portable drop-light is provided. The light comprises a handle, a housing, a cover, a novel mounting assembly, and a light bulb. The mounting assembly is configured with a pivoting light bulb socket and positioned within the handle for mounting the light bulb within a housing interior. The housing possesses an aperture through which the container interior and light bulb may be accessed. The cover is reversibly attached to the housing so as to inhibit access to the light bulb through the aperture. When replacing the light bulb, the cover is moved from the aperture and the mounting assembly is pivoted between a retracted position, where the bulb is substantially retained within the housing and an extended position, where a portion of the bulb is positioned outside the housing. In this manner, the light bulb is easily accessed for replacement.

Hand-held portable drop light

A hand-held fluorescent lamp assembly powered by typical line supply of 120 VAC, 60 Hz via an attached power cord and employing multiple commonly available fluorescent lamps. The assembly includes switches to independently control the multiple fluorescent lamps. The assembly includes lightweight solid state power regulation components. The power regulation circuit employs a self-oscillating circuit that is approximately matched in frequency of oscillation to the natural frequency of the fluorescent lamp load to automatically ignite the fluorescent lamps. The power regulation circuit includes circuit elements to automatically protect the ballast circuit and lamps from overdrawing in the run state and from abnormal load conditions.

A plug retention apparatus for use in securing two plug members together to prevent undesired disengagement. The plug retention apparatus is affixed to a first plug member using a retention ring which provides a means for adjustable positioning via a threaded coupling to facilitate securing a second plug member to the first plug member. A plug clamp may be rotatably positioned about the second plug member retaining the plug members in a desired position. The clamp used for retaining the second plug may include a cord support, a latch to secure the cord on the support and a locking mechanism to selectively retain the latch in a closed position.

An extension cord reel assembly having a housing which has a spool portion and a mounting portion is provided. A spool member having at least one flange member that is continuously welded to a surface upon which the extension cord is to be stored is positioned within the spool portion of the housing. The mounting portion of the housing of the reel assembly is positioned adjacent an outer perimeter of the spool member and is adapted to attach to a suspension member from which the reel assembly can be suspended above the ground.

The invention is a novel drainage tube system, to be used following surgery, where drainage is necessary. It comprises a protective shield of spherical segmental configuration, having a recessed flat surface on one side and a spherical surface on the other side. In a modification, the flat surface is omitted and the spherical segment is open. An internal drainage tube penetrates the shield and terminates externally thereof on the spherical side in tube connector means comprising a bulbous portion spaced from the spherical side of the shield and a threaded portion intermediate the bulbous portion and spherical side. This enables fluid-tight connection with the internal tube for the external drainage tube sufficient even for the application of a pump, if necessary, but admitting of ready removal for inspection or patient transfer. Gauze or other absorbent dressing material, conforming in configuration to the bottom side of the shield, includes a central opening to accommodate the internal tube and a split from the opening to the edge to facilitate dressing application and change. The dressing is held in place against the body by the shield, in turn taped firmly in place to anchor the tubes and protect the opening while maintaining the dressing intact. The apparatus may be assembled or pre-cast integrally, as a disposable kit, from soft, flexible material.
