Disclosed are sulfur and phosphorous free, borated organomolybdenum compositions containing borated alcohols. These compositions can be formulated with ashless antioxidants and low levels of phosphorous containing antiwear compounds to provide improved lubricating compositions.

The present invention relates to oligomeric or polymer dithiophosphate di- or poly-sulfides and their utility in rubbers. Another aspect of the invention is a method for making oligomeric or polymeric dithiophosphates by reacting phosphorous pentasulfide with a di- or polyol and a mono alcohol to produce a dithiophosphoric acid, and then oxidizing the dithiophosphoric acid with an oxidizing agent to produce an oligomeric or polymeric dithiophosphate.

An additive for imparting antiwear properties to a lubricant composition is based on a combination of (1) an organo borate ester composition and (2) one or more sulfur- or phosphorus-containing compounds or a non-sulfur molybdenum compound. The invention relates to a novel asymmetrical, secondary dialkylamine-based molybdenum dithiocarbamate with improved friction reducing performance, viscosity and solubility, and lubricating compositions containing the same. The compounds are produced from asymmetrical dialkylamine of the formula R1-NH&#x2014;R2 where R1 and R2 are different, and are independently selected from alkyl groups C3 to C19. The present invention relates to 1,3,4-thiadiazole reaction products useful as accelerators and/or curing agents for halogenated polymers in rubber vulcanization processes, and to halogenated polymer compositions containing the thiadiazole derivatives, as well as a method of preparing the same.
