An improved drive mechanism for a toy vehicle in which a pair of traction wheels are driven by a helical spring disposed coaxially about the wheel axle. The spring is connected at one end to the axle on which the traction wheels are mounted and at the other end to a housing for the axle and the spring which is rotatably mounted with respect to the vehicle body. The spring propels the vehicle after initial forward movement by the user substantially back to the point of release in an orientation opposite to that during initial forward movement of the vehicle.

Reversible direction drive mechanism for toy vehicles

An apparatus is described which pressurizes fluid and causes it to flow by capturing energy dissipated by moving vehicles. The apparatus is a network of collapsible bodies containing a working fluid which is attached to a turbine generator system. The bodies are resilient tubes, preferably three part structures made of elastic, inner tubes with projections and outer sections of semirigid hose. The network may be overlayed with a flexible sheet which distributes the weight and motion of the vehicle.

Road traffic actuated generator

A wrist exercise apparatus, particularly adapted for use by an athlete such as a baseball pitcher, is disclosed. The exercise apparatus has a weighted, elongated, rectangular frame which is adapted to be grasped by the pitcher and moved in a simulated pitching motion. The frame includes side members, a weighted cross member displaced to one side of the plane in which the frame lies at one end, a wrist-backing cross member at the other end, and a transverse hand grip intermediate the two ends which is longitudinally adjustable to accommodate variations in the length of the user's hand.

Wrist activator

An exercise chair having a body-supporting frame 15, a support member 17 pivoted on the frame to support the frame in inclined position and having a seat 19, and a footrest 21 swiveled on the base of the frame for swinging toward and away from the frame. A rope 29 trained over pulleys 26, 27 and 58 connects a crossbar 23 on the top of the frame 15 to the footrest 21 for transmitting a pulling force applied to the ends of crossbar 23 to the footrest 21 to swing it rearwardly toward the frame.

Dynamic self-resisting exercise chair

A tennis racket has a frame member forming a head portion having duplicate strung ball striking matrices, each matrix being substantially coplanar with a respective front and rear face of the frame member. The matrices are formed with a plurality of intersecting string lengths, each being threaded through an aperture extending between the front and rear face of the frame member. In an alternate embodiment each string length traverses a respective front or rear face and then is passed through a radially directed aperture connecting an outer margin of the frame with an inner margin. A signal device is attachable to the matrices for emitting an audible response upon ball impact within a prescribed locus on the matrix.
