A blood pressure system that includes a compact monitor housing that contains a pneumatic circuit and an electrical circuit and a processor for inflating and deflating a cuff to provide blood pressure related data. A split connector allows the housing to interface both pneumatically and electronically with one or more independent cuffs and/or with one or more host stations. Each host station contains a dependent cuff and further electrical components to expand and enhance the systems output of related blood pressure data that is generated by either the independent or dependent cuffs.

Blood pressure measuring apparatus

A blood pressure measurement apparatus for use in association with a blood pressure measuring cuff includes a housing having an upper shell and a lower shell defining an interior chamber and a replaceable module disposed within the interior chamber. The replaceable module houses a pump for inflating the blood pressure measuring cuff and a vent valve for venting the blood pressure measuring cuff. A cuff pressure sensor is provided within the interior chamber, either within or externally of the replaceable module. A control circuit for controlling the pump and the vent valve is provided on a circuit board disposed externally of the replaceable module. A power pack may be provided within the replaceable module for supplying electric power to the pump, the valve, the control circuit and other components within the interior chamber.

Modular blood pressure measurement apparatus

A pressure measuring apparatus includes a gage that is at least partially imbedded within a flexible elastomeric member disposed within an interior cavity of a device housing. A shock resistant member into which the gage is inserted permits fluid interconnection between the interior of the gage having a contained movement mechanism that is responsive to fluid pressure changes and a fluid source, such as an inflatable blood pressure cuff and further provides shock and/or impact resistance for a contained movement mechanism. Additional impact/shock absorption is provided by exterior features of the apparatus, including a peripheral bumper having a plurality of raised spring-like protrusions, and rubberized and contoured features of the device housing.

Shock resistant blood pressure measuring apparatus

A blood pressure measuring apparatus includes an inflatable cuff which can be wrapped about the limb of a patient. The sleeve includes a sealed interior capable of inflation, and an integrated inflation/measuring device. The integrated device is an elastomeric enclosure which retains a gage and a pneumatic bulb therein and hosing for fluidly interconnecting the pneumatic bulb, the inflatable cuff, and the gage.

Apparatus for jumpering a first battery to a second battery. First and second jumper cables are connected to terminals of the batteries, each jumper cable being connected between corresponding polarity battery terminals to form an electrical path therebetween. A normally open set of contacts of a relay are series-connected with one of the jumper cables to hold the circuit path between the batteries open while the cables are being connected. This prevents the creation of sparks at the terminals of either battery. The relay is energized after the cables are connected to close the contacts and complete the circuit path between the batteries whereby one of the batteries may supply power to a load normally supplied by the other battery. The set of contacts are enclosed to prevent any sparks created during closure of the contacts from igniting any gases generated by the batteries. The relay is deenergized before the cables are disconnected from the respective battery terminals to open the circuit between the batteries so that the cables can thereafter be disconnected from the terminals without creating sparks at the battery terminals.
