A precision agriculture support system is provided with a measuring device, a storage device and a plant species determining unit. The measuring device measures a first spectral characteristic of light derived from vegetation in a support target area. The storage device stores a database of spectrum according to species that shows a spectral characteristic of a desired crop. The plant species determining unit determines whether a plant included in the vegetation is the desired crop or not based on the database of spectrum according to species and a measurement result of the first spectral characteristic. The plant species determination unit further carries out distinction of agricultural crops, distinction of agricultural crops and weeds and the like. Furthermore, the precision agriculture support system identifies an area where abnormality is occurring, estimates a nature of the abnormality and carries out an early warning by providing a countermeasure against the abnormality.

The invention comprises a method and apparatus for managing cropland comprising the steps of: (1) wirelessly linking a remote sensing platform to a ground based communication system; (2) spatially resolving into a set of locations a ground matrix area using optics of the remote sensing platform; (3) optically measuring for each member of the set of locations: first reflected cropland radiation in a visible range using the remote sensing platform, second reflected cropland radiation in a near-infrared range, and emitted radiation in an infrared range of 2500 to 12,000 nm; (4) generating a crop health data set for each set of locations using the combined remote sensing data; (5) repeating the steps of spatially resolving and optically measuring to periodically update the crop health data set; and (6) communicating the specific crop management recommendations to a farm treatment system.

A boat leveling system includes a boat that has a port side, a starboard side, a port fuel tank, a starboard fuel tank, a port fuel line, a starboard fuel line, an engine, an engine fuel return line and a fuel vent line. A leveling unit is positioned within the boat. The leveling unit is in fluid communication with the engine fuel return line to receive fuel. The leveling unit is in fluid communication with each of the port fuel line and the starboard fuel line. The leveling unit diverts the fuel to the port fuel line when the boat is listing to the starboard side. Thus, the port fuel unit receives additional fuel to level the boat. The leveling unit diverts the fuel to the starboard fuel line when the boat is listing to the port side. Thus, the starboard fuel unit receives additional fuel to level the boat.

An electrochemical device is designed to conduct a process gas both horizontally and vertically through the electrochemical device, such that problems resulting from mal-distribution of the process gas are substantially eliminated. The structure of the electrochemical device includes a stacked assembly of planar sheets of parallel, integrally connected tubes, wherein the tubes conduct a first process gas horizontally throughout the electrochemical device, passages defined between adjacent stacked sheets conduct a second process gas horizontally throughout the electrochemical device, and novel apertures formed at the connection between adjacent tubes within the sheets conduct the second process gas vertically throughout the electrochemical device.

A plurality of nail current collector members are useful in the gas flow passages of an electrochemical device to optimize the active surfaces of the device and to provide structural support. In addition, the thicknesses of cathode and anode layers within the electrochemical device are varied according to current flow through the device to reduce resistance and increase operating efficiency.
