An embodiment of a tool assembly includes a spring-loaded shaft assembly disposed along a first axis, a hub, and a roller disk. The hub is connected to a distal end of the spring-loaded shaft assembly. The hub has an upper hub portion adjacent to the distal end of the spring-loaded shaft assembly aligned with the first axis, and a lower hub portion extending along a second axis. The second axis forms an angle relative to the first axis. The roller disk is joined to the lower portion of the hub, and has a working surface about its perimeter. The roller disk is rotatable about the second axis parallel to the second portion of the hub. The working surface includes a profile along its width such that an effective radius of the roller disk varies along a width thereof.

A pressure vessel assembly includes a plurality of lobes, each lobe having at least one vertically arranged interior wall, the lobes positioned in a side by side arrangement such that a first interior wall of a first lobe is positioned adjacent a second interior wall of a second lobe, the first interior wall having a first wall top and bottom side, the second interior wall having a second wall top and bottom side, the first wall top side joined to the second wall top side and the first wall bottom side joined to the second wall bottom side. Also included are first and second end wall surfaces of each of the plurality of lobes. Further included is a plurality of end caps, each of the end caps joined to the end wall surfaces of the lobes, each of the end caps joined to at least one adjacent end cap.

Pressure vessel assembly and method of forming

A heat exchanger includes a conduit of a first aluminum alloy and a plurality of fins in thermally conductive contact with the exterior of the conduit. The fins include a second aluminum alloy comprising from 0.005 wt. % to 0.1 wt. % of at least one alloying element selected from tin, barium, indium, mercury, and gallium.

The alloy may be selected from the group consisting of an aluminum alloy and a zinc alloy.

The dovetail is received in the slot. A diode is in contact with a portion of the dovetail formed of a second material that is more electrically conductive than the first material. The diode is in contact with a rotating element that rotates with the rotor. The rotating element is formed of a third material. The first material is less electrically conductive than the third material. The diode and the rotating element together form a ground path from the portion of the dovetail into the rotor. The second member is formed from a second metal having high reduction reaction kinetics and galvanic corrosion driving force relative the first member, wherein the second metal is more noble than the first metal. A material for substantially eliminating the galvanic corrosion problem by reducing the reduction reaction kinetics of the second metal in the presence of an electrolyte is provided between the first and second metals. In a preferred embodiment, the article is a heat exchanger wherein the first member is a fin collar and the second member a tube and the material for reducing is a coating on the tube has low reduction reaction kinetics relative to copper for reducing corrosion activities between the tube and fin collar.

Article exhibiting improved resistance to galvanic corrosion

A graded metal hardware component for an electrochemical cell is shown for mechanically supporting electrochemical cell structures and defining fluid cavities and fluid passages in a cell employing a solid polymer electrolyte membrane. The graded metal hardware component includes a substrate such as stainless steel, a surface layer made of a precious metal such as gold, and a graded boundary layer adjacent to and between the substrate and surface layer, wherein the graded boundary layer is an interdiffusion of the substrate and surface layer so that the graded boundary layer is between 0.5 wt. %-5.0 wt. % of the material making up the substrate, and between 99.5 wt. %-95.0 wt. % of the material making up the surface layer, and the graded boundary layer has a thickness of between 10%-90% of a shortest distance between the substrate and an exterior surface of the surface layer. In a preferred embodiment a shortest distance between the substrate and an exterior surface of the surface layer is between 50 to 120 microinches, and the exterior surface of the surface layer has a hardness of between 150 to 200 on the Knoop scale.

Graded metal hardware component for an electrochemical cell

A method and apparatus for testing refrigerant of one type for contamination by refrigerant of another type as would be the case if an air conditioning or refrigeration system charged with a non-chlorofluorocarbon refrigerant received a replenishment charge of a chlorofluorocarbon refrigerant. A sample of the suspected refrigerant mix is exposed to a reagent that will decompose the contaminant refrigerant but not the refrigerant that is proper for the system. The sample is then tested for a product of the decomposition. If the product is present, then one can conclude that the contaminant refrigerant is present.
