A mobile dialysis fluid generation system includes a cargo unit configured to be transported by a vehicle; a cleanroom located inside the cargo unit; water purification equipment; at least one dialysis fluid preparation unit located inside the cleanroom; and at least one area provided outside the cleanroom but inside the cargo unit for storing at least one of a raw material or containers filled with dialysis fluid. The at least one dialysis fluid preparation unit includes at least one concentrate, a mixing device configured to receive purified water from the water purification equipment and to mix the purified water with the at least one concentrate to form dialysis fluid, and a tubing set for transfer of the dialysis fluid from the mixing device to a container positioned and arranged to receive the dialysis fluid.

Apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment

An extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus is provided comprising a filtration unit connected to a blood circuit and to a dialysis fluid circuit, a preparation device for preparing and regulating the composition of the dialysis fluid; a control unit is configured for determining or receiving a proposed value of a sodium concentration for the dialysis fluid in the dialysis supply line and to determine a set value for the sodium concentration in the dialysis fluid as a function of the proposed value. For at least an interval of proposed values for the sodium concentration, the control unit is configured to determine the set value so that the set value is different from the proposed value and so that distinct set values are determined from distinct proposed values. The set value is biased towards a predetermined pivot value.

A blood treatment apparatus is disclosed. The example apparatus includes a blood treatment unit including a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet and a blood line. The apparatus also includes a fluid line including an upstream fluid line configured to receive electrically conductive treatment fluid from a fluid source and pass the electrically conductive treatment fluid to the fluid inlet of the blood treatment unit and a downstream fluid line connected to the fluid outlet of the blood treatment unit for delivering the used electrically conductive treatment fluid to a fluid sink. A method of monitoring the integrity of a fluid connection between first and second fluid containing systems based on at least one time-dependent measurement signal from a pressure sensor in the first fluid containing system. The pressure sensor detects first pulses originating from a first pulse generator in the first fluid containing system and second pulses originating from a second pulse generator in the second fluid containing system. A parameter value representing a distribution of signal values within a time window is calculated by analyzing the measurement signal in the time domain and/or by using information on the timing of the second pulses in the measurement signal. The parameter value may be calculated as a statistical dispersion measure of the signal values, or from matching the signal to a predicted temporal signal profile of the second pulse. The integrity of the fluid connection is determined from the parameter value.

Methods and devices for monitoring the integrity of a fluid connection

Dialysis machines comprising a feed arrangement () to supply a dialysis fluid to a dialyzer () during dialysis treatment and a return arrangement () to remove the dialysis fluid from the dialyzer during dialysis treatment and forward it to an exit (); a feed recirculation circuit () to allow a fluid of the feed arrangement to be re-circulated in a fluid loop path comprising, at least a portion of, the feed arrangement and the feed recirculation circuit and a return recirculation circuit () to allow a fluid of the return arrangement to re-circulate in an auxiliary fluid loop path comprising, at least a portion of, the return arrangement and the return recirculation circuit. The dialysis machine () further comprises a feed forward arrangement () connected to the fluid loop path and arranged to enable a fluid of the feed arrangement () to be forwarded to the exit () by-passing the auxiliary fluid loop path.

A blood treatment apparatus is disclosed. In an example, the blood treatment apparatus includes a blood treatment unit; a blood line configured to extract blood from a blood source, pass the blood through the blood treatment unit and deliver treated blood to a target vessel; and a fluid line configured to pass treatment fluid through the blood treatment unit and deliver used treatment fluid to a fluid sink. A flow divider is arranged in the fluid line for separating treatment fluid into to a first fluid section and a second fluid section, thereby electrically isolating the fluid sections such that electrical current flowing in the fluid line between the fluid sections is limited. Dialysis monitors capable of storing and using thermal energy and methods related thereto are disclosed. Dialysis monitors capable of storing and using disinfection and/or cleaning fluids which was used at an earlier disinfection and/or cleaning event and methods related thereto are also disclosed. Thermally stored energy may, for example, be used for quick thermal disinfection of the fluid path, quick start-up of the preparation of treatment fluid, and as back-up power for continuous preparation of treatment fluid should externally provided power be interrupted.

Dialysis monitors and methods of operation

A control system () is arranged to control the operation of an apparatus () for extracorporeal blood treatment. The apparatus () comprises an extracorporeal blood circuit () and a connection system (C) for connecting the blood circuit () to the vascular system of a patient. The blood circuit () comprises a blood processing device (), and at least one pumping device (). The control system is operable to switch between a pre-treatment mode and a blood treatment mode. The blood treatment mode involves operating the blood circuit () to pump blood from the vascular system via the connection system (C) through the blood processing device () and back to the vascular system via the connection system (C). The control system () is operable to obtain measurement data from at least one energy transfer sensor () arranged to sense a transfer of energy between the patient and the connection system (C) or between the patient and the blood circuit (). The control system () is configured to, in the pre-treatment mode, process the measurement data for identification of a characteristic change indicating a connection of the blood circuit () to the vascular system of the patient, and, upon such identification, take dedicated action. The action may involve activating at least part of a patient protection system and/or enabling entry into the blood treatment mode. The control system may be included in an apparatus () for blood treatment, such as a dialysis machine.
