The invention discloses a method for producing packaging units and the produced packaging units, comprising at least two substantially similar articles, wherein the articles are held together by at least one packaging blank (). A main surface of the packaging blank () is applied to first end faces of an article grouping (), forming a connection between the articles and primary fixing element of the packaging blank (). The primary fixing element fixes the positions of the articles relative to one another. The side surfaces () of the packaging blank () are subsequently folded over, wherein secondary fixing element interacts with the shell surfaces of the articles. The secondary fixing elements are formed by strapping sections, which surround the article grouping () and fixes the articles in a substantially parallel alignment to one another. The invention also relates to a packaging device for carrying out the method.

The invention relates to a handling device or layer forming device () and a method for forming piece good layers. Piece goods () are conveyed on a horizontal conveying device () to a grouping station and/or layer forming station () comprising a manipulator (). In a work cycle, the manipulator () seizes at least one piece good () and moves it into a target position or target alignment, in particular with regard to a piece good layer to be formed. The invention includes a method () and an apparatus to handle irregularly conveyed and/or irregularly aligned and/or non-upright articles of an article stream under prevention of disturbances.
