The invention relates to an electrode for biomedical measurements, in particular for measurements for electrical impedance tomography, which permits measurements with as little interference as possible. The electrodes comprise a contact plate, a line driver with a high-impedance signal input and low-impedance line output and a current source, with a current output and a reference point, whereby the contact plate is connected to the high-impedance signal input of the line driver and to the current output of the current source and the line driver and the current source are arranged in the vicinity of the contact plate.

Electrode for biomedical measurements

A sensor includes a pair of resiliently loaded jaws for receiving a finger, the sensor including a pair of fiber optic light transmitting guides secured in fixed spaced relation to one of the jaws for sensing blood in the finger tip. A control unit includes a light generator for transmitting light modulated at first and second frequencies to one of the guides via a light guide transfer section. The finger pulse modulates the received transmitted light. The modulated light is sensed by the other guide and returned to a receiver in the control unit via the transfer section for separating and demodulating the different frequency signals. The control unit includes a calculating unit which has two branches for processing and then combining by dividing the processed demodulated signals for determining the oxygen content of the blood from the relative magnitudes of the pulse-dependent modulation factor of the wave reflected from the finger.

Non-invasive oximeter arrangement

A magnetic resonance spectrometer in which, at least in the receiving branch, the received spin resonance signal is transposed by successive mixing processes into a transposed signal having a higher frequency range than the baseband. The transposed signal is converted into a digital signal by an analog-to-digital converter.

Magnetic resonance spectrometer

An optical sensor (1) is connected to an electro-optical transducer unit (35) and a measuring circuit (36) via an optical delay line (14) and an optical path (15). Error-free measurement values which are independent of the attenuation characteristics of the optical delay line (14) are obtained if the optical sensor (1) comprises a polarization splitter (3) which receives light pulses from the optical path (15) and from the optical delay line (14) and which is followed by a sensor body (2) which is traversed by the light pulses. A mirror (4) arranged on the side of the sensor body (2) on which the light is not incident reflects the light pulses back into the polarization splitter (3), which couples the light pulses back into the optical path (15) and the optical delay line (14).

Optical measuring apparatus

A method of generating a motion signal which is dependent on motion of a body to be examined in an MRI tomography apparatus, characterized in that during the examination the impedance of a high-frequency coil system (33; 34) whose field acts on the body (3) to be examined and which is tuned to a predetermined resonance frequency is measured in the resonance frequency range with the motion signal being derived from the measurement signal just formed.

MRI tomography apparatus for generating a motion signal

An optical movement sensor for clearly accurately detecting deformations of a human body. The movement sensor consists of a belt with a buckle made up of two parts which are joined together mechanically by a light-transmitting sensor element. Transmitting and a receiving fibre optic light guides are connected to one part of the buckle in such a way that light emitted by the transmitting light guide passes through the sensor element by way of a polarizer and is coupled to the receiving light guide via an analyzer.

Optical movement sensor

The invention relates to arrangement for data transmission between two mutually rotatable parts, in particular for computer tomographs, in which the signal can travel along two separate paths from transmitter to receiver, so that the phase angle and amplitude, respectively, of the received signal changes upon one rotation. For the signals propagating along the two distinct paths a separate receiving channel is provided for each path with a limiter amplifier, the output signals of the limiter amplifier being fed to inputs of an OR circuit whose output signal forms the output signal of the data transmission network.

Arrangement for data transmission between two mutually rotatable parts

The invention relates to a high voltage transfer device comprising two insulator bodies which are rotatable with respect to each other. In each insulator body there is embedded an electrode arrangement which horizontally encloses the axis of rotation. The two electrode arrangements together form a kind of Faraday cage, so that the field between the two electrode arrangements and in their vicinity is corrected and reduced.
