In one aspect, a method for managing documents or partial documents in an electronic document folder is provided. A validity indication, which is individual to the document or partial document and specifies a validity expiry time is assigned to a respective document, e.g. an e-mail, or a partial document, e.g. an e-mail attachment and is stored, the indication being assigned to an executable validity program. Once the validity expiry time has been reached, the executable validity program, assigned to the validity indication, is executed for the document or partial document with an assigned validity indication. The executable validity program comprises a deletion routine for deleting the document or partial document with the assigned validity indication in the electronic document folder.

Method and arrangement for managing documents in electronic document folders

A mobile terminal device determines whether it is located in the local radio area of the network or in another radio area and the determined radio area is indicated to an application of the network. The application is used to control a communication request addressed to the mobile terminal device. Communication requests coming in on the network can be directly switched to the local radio area using the application or can be directly forwarded to the mobile radio address in the mobile radio network of which the mobile terminal device is located, thereby avoiding or substantially reducing roaming or forwarding of communication requests from the local radio area to another radio area and thereby achieving an economical operation of mobile telephone terminal devices with local radio area.

Method for switching communication links to a mobile terminal device which is associated with a local radio area of a network

The invention relates to a method for providing communication in a VoIP communication network having a multiplicity of network nodes, in which a) at least one first subscriber terminal in the VoIP communication network stores a first item of information containing at least one VoIP connection property desired by the user of the first subscriber terminal in at least one first network node of the VoIP communication network, wherein b) when a second subscriber terminal wishes to connect to the first subscriber terminal, b1) the second subscriber terminal requests the first item of information from the first network node, b2) the second subscriber terminal forms at least one data element that describes the connection on the basis of at least the first item of information, b3) the second subscriber terminal transmits the data element that describes the connection to a functional element which is assigned to the network and switches through direct connections between communication partners, and wherein c) the functional element evaluates the data element in such a manner that it establishes the connection between the first subscriber terminal and the second subscriber terminal on the basis of at least the first item of information. The invention also relates to an arrangement for carrying out the method.

Method and arrangement for providing VoIP communication

A mobile terminal device (ME) determines whether it is located in the local radio area (HFB) of the network (MN) or in another radio area (FB) and the determined radio area (HFB, FB) is indicated to an application (APPL) of the network (MN). The application (APPL) is used to control a communication request (KV) addressed to the mobile terminal device (ME) by another network (FN) either to its local radio area (HFB) or to forward it to the other radio area (FB) or the communication request (KV) is informed that the terminal device (ME) is not located in the local radio area (HFB). The invention allows communication requests coming in on the network (MN) to be directly switched to the local radio area (HFB) using the application (APPL) or to be directly forwarded to the mobile radio address in the mobile radio network of which the mobile terminal device (ME) is located, thereby avoiding or substantially reducing roaming or forwarding of communication requests from the local radio area (HFB) to another radio area and thereby achieving an economical operation of mobile telephone terminal devices (ME) with local radio area (HFB).

In order to monitor an application (AP, AP, AP) in a packet-switching network (NW), the state of the application (AP, AP, AP) is recorded by means of a monitoring instant (MC) and is transmitted to a Presence Application (PA) which displays and/or further processes the state. For this purpose, the application (AP, AP, AP) is registered by means of the monitoring instant (MC) as a first communication partner in a list of communication partners which can be accessed in the network, and the Presence Application (PA) is registered in the list as a second communication partner which monitors the first communication partner. To assign clients distributed across a plurality of subnetworks to a server, one of the clients is first selected in a respective subnetwork. A search is carried out across the subnetworks by a respective selected client for other selected clients and for the server, whereby when it locates the server, the selected client stores server address information identifying said server and when it locates another selected client, it requests the server address information from that client and stores it on receipt. The stored server address information is transmitted by the selected client to one or a plurality of other selected or non-selected clients.

In a system having distributed components arranged in a logical ring structure, each component monitors only their respective neighboring component in the structure and the condition of the neighboring component is determined. If a component determines a condition of its neighboring component that corresponds to a predefinable condition, the component informs the other components of the system of the predefined condition of the neighboring component.

There is described a localization system with a mobile position data transmitter having a position-detecting device for detecting a position of the position data transmitter and for deriving position data from the position detected. The position data transmitter also has a radio tag writing device for wirelessly emitting the derived position data with a write signal for writing to radio tags. The localization system also has radio tags which are to be spatially distributed and each have a memory for storing an item of localization information which is taken from the position data received with the write signal. A radio tag reading device is used to retrieve and output the stored read information from the radio tags that are situated in the retrieval range.

For alternate operation of a terminal (EG) at at least two communication nodes (GK, GK), the terminal (EG) is first registered with a first of the communication nodes (GK). Method and communication arrangement for alternately operating a terminal at at least two communication nodes

There is described a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) network entity for operating in a communications channel between a first SIP end point and a second SIP end point in a communication network. The first SIP end point has available a first set of communication features and the second SIP end point has available a second set of communication features, including at least one communication feature, for example Music on Hold, that is unavailable to the first SIP end point. The network entity acts as a client application for the first SIP end point and as a server application for the second SIP end point and is arranged to exchange signaling information with the SIP end points to enable the second SIP end point to utilize the at least one communication feature during communications with the first SIP end point.
