A fuel injection pump for a piston engine, the pump comprising a cylinder element having a pressure plenum provided with an outlet chamber for removing pressurized fuel from the pressure plenum, a piston arranged to reciprocate inside the pressure plenum, an inlet chamber arranged outside the pressure plenum and at least one inlet channel arranged between the pressure plenum and the inlet chamber. At least one fill channel provided with a non-return valve is arranged between the pressure plenum and the inlet chamber, the valve allowing fuel flow from the inlet chamber to the pressure plenum but preventing flow from the pressure plenum to the inlet chamber.

Injection pump for a piston engine

Arrangement in connection with a diesel engine comprising an air supply system for the diesel engine for supplying suction air to the engine from the environment, the air supply system comprising at least a channel arrangement, a compressor and a heat exchanger for suction air and a cooling circuit for the diesel engine, to which circuit at least one heat exchanger is connected. The heat exchanger connected to the cooling circuit, which recovers waste heat from the diesel engine, is arranged to evaporate water by the heat received from the cooling circuit. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.

Arrangement and method in connection with diesel engine

A method and apparatus of operating a combination power plant which includes at least one large diesel engine provided with a turbocharger connected to receive exhaust gas from the engine, an exhaust gas boiler connected to receive exhaust gas from the turbocharger for utilizing heat energy in the exhaust gas to produce pressurized steam, and a steam turbine for converting energy in the steam produced by the exhaust gas boiler to electrical energy. When the engine is running at a high power output rate, a side flow of exhaust gas is removed from the flow of exhaust gas upstream of the turbocharger, the side flow being below 20% of the total exhaust gas flow from the engine. Heat energy in the side flow gas is used to refine the steam produced by the exhaust gas boiler before feeding it into the steam turbine.
