A converter includes L phase legs, each phase leg of the L phase legs comprising a plurality of switches connected in series between an input power source and ground, wherein a first flying capacitor of an Mth phase is cross-coupled between an Mth phase leg and an (M+1)th phase leg, and a first flying capacitor of an Lth phase is cross-coupled between an Lth phase leg and a first phase leg, and wherein switches of the L phase legs are configured such that a ratio of an input voltage of the hybrid multi-phase step-down power converter to an output voltage of the hybrid multi-phase step-down power converter is equal to N/D, and wherein L, M, N are positive integers with M<L, L>2, and D is a duty cycle of the hybrid multi-phase step-down power converter.

Hybrid power conversion system and control method

A converter includes a first phase comprising a plurality of first phase switches connected in series between an input power source and ground, a second phase comprising a plurality of second phase switches connected in series between the input power source and ground, and a first flying capacitor of the first phase and a first flying capacitor of the second phase cross-coupled between the first phase and the second phase, wherein switches of the first phase and switches of the second phase are configured such that a ratio of an input voltage of the hybrid dual-phase step-down power converter to an output voltage of the hybrid dual-phase step-down power converter is equal to N/D, and wherein N is an integer, and D is a duty cycle of the hybrid dual-phase step-down power converter.

A hybrid dual-phase step-up power conversion system includes a step-up converter apparatus comprising a first leg, a second leg, a first capacitor and a second capacitor, wherein the first capacitor and the second capacitor are cross-coupled between the first leg and the second leg, and a plurality of expansion circuits coupled to the step-up converter apparatus, wherein the plurality of expansion circuits is configured to increase a power conversion ratio of the hybrid dual-phase step-up power conversion system.

A hybrid dual-phase step-up power conversion system includes a first leg including a first switch, a second switch and a third switch connected in series between an output terminal of the hybrid dual-phase step-up power conversion system and ground, a second leg including a fourth switch, a fifth switch and a sixth switch connected in series between the output terminal of the hybrid dual-phase step-up power conversion system and ground, and a first capacitor and a second capacitor cross-coupled between the first leg and the second leg, wherein switches of the first leg and switches of the second leg are configured such that a sum of a voltage across the first capacitor and a voltage across the second capacitor is fed into the output terminal of the hybrid dual-phase step-up power conversion system.

Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems including an electronic apparatus having a configurable sector cavity antenna integrated into a PCB. The configurable sector cavity antenna may include a first panel embedded within a first layer of the PCB along an edge of the first layer, and a second panel embedded within a second layer of the PCB along an edge of the second layer. The configurable sector cavity antenna may further include a fixed via wall to couple the first panel and the second panel along an inner edge of the first panel and the inner edge of the second panel, and a switchable via wall to selectively couple multiple interior points of the first panel and multiple interior points of the second panel. Antennas integrated into a printed circuit board

A wearable electronic device includes a first member and a second member. The second member includes a first, RF-attenuating, portion and a second, electrically conductive portion. A gap exists between the first member and at least the second portion of the second member. One or more transmitter/receivers, such as one or more BLUETOOTH&#xae;, BLUETOOTH&#xae; low energy, and/or IEEE 802.11 transceivers may be mounted in the first member. The one or more transmitter/receivers are conductively coupled to the second portion of the second member. RF signals generated by the one or more transceivers are emitted from the second portion of the second member.

Antenna for wearable electronic devices

Various systems and methods for radiating RF transmissions outside of a portable electronic device with a conductive case. In an embodiment, this solution includes a conductive enclosure, a circuit board within the conductive enclosure, at least one non-conductive gap between the circuit board and the conductive enclosure, and a radio frequency (RF) connection between the circuit board and the conductive enclosure. The combination of enclosure and gaps can excite certain radiation modes at high frequency bands, such as a cavity-backed lambda-long slot radiation mode.

Systems and methods for integrated antenna arrangements

Embodiments herein relate to the detection and switchable use of a detachable GNSS antenna with a wearable electronic device. In various embodiments, a wearable electronic apparatus may include a multi-band antenna to receive satellite positioning signals in a first frequency band and local radio frequency communication signals in a second frequency band, an antenna connector to optionally receive a detachable satellite positioning antenna, and a switch having a switching terminal, a first input terminal coupled with the multi-band antenna, a second input terminal coupled with the antenna connector, and an output terminal, wherein the switch is to selectively connect the first input terminal or the second input terminal to the output terminal, in response to a state of a switching signal received at the switching terminal. Wearable electronic device with detachable antenna support

Example customizable example customizable wearable electronic devices, and methods of assembling the same are disclosed. An example customizable wearable electronic device includes a housing bottom member, a housing top member including a radio frequency (RF) attenuating portion that includes a material that attenuates RF energy and an RF conducting portion that includes an electrically-conductive material, the housing top member separated from the housing bottom member by an electrical isolation gap member, an electrically-conductive contact to couple the RF conducting portion of the top housing member to a communication module in the customizable wearable electronic device, and a customization part selected from a plurality of different customization parts having respective different configurations, the selected customization part electrically coupled to the RF conducting portion of the housing top member when the selected customization part is assembled to the housing top member.
