An axial shifter assembly for a transmission. The axial shifter assembly includes a gear and a shifting collar arranged co-axially with each other. The shifting collar has at least one axial tooth projecting axially therefrom and is movable axially between an engaged position in which the at least one axial tooth drivingly engages with the gear and a disengaged position in which the at least one axial tooth is disengaged from the gear. The axial shifter assembly also includes a piston disposed at least partially radially inwards of the shifting collar. The shifting collar moves with the piston. The piston is actuatable between a first axial position corresponding to the disengaged position and a second axial position corresponding to the engaged position.

Axial shifter assembly for a transmission

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a transmission variator. The variator receives input power from at least two power sources and provides variable speed output power paths for the transmission. A variator clutch assembly transfers input power to a variator shaft, which drives a planetary gear assembly, including a sun drive gear, planetary gears, and one or more ring gears. The ring gear(s) provide output power to a high output and low output gear assembly. A double reverse tapered spline between the sun drive gear and sun gear to provide forward thrust on the sun gear. A lubrication pin in the planetary gears can provide pressurized lubrication to the planetary gear assembly. A ring gear retention key can be disposed in a spur gear of the high output gear assembly, and ride in a groove in the underside of the ring gear to provide for alignment.

Variator and variator shaft

A powershift transmission for a vehicle including an input shaft, a first intermediate shaft, a second intermediate shaft, and an output shaft. The input shaft includes a low driving gearwheel and a high driving gearwheel. The first intermediate shaft includes a low output gearwheel, a high output gearwheel, a first speed driving gearwheel, a second speed driving gearwheel, and a third speed driving gearwheel. The second intermediate shaft includes a first speed output gearwheel, a second speed output gearwheel, a third speed output gearwheel, a first-second group driving gearwheel, and a fourth speed output gearwheel. The output shaft includes a first-second group output gearwheel and a third group gearwheel.

Powershift transmission and vehicle

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a clutch configuration and/or clutch operation. The clutch configuration includes an arrangement having a transmission input shaft having a conduit therethrough and a rotating clutch drum configured to rotatably couple to the transmission input shaft and operate independent of the transmission input shaft. The rotating clutch drum has a conduit complementary to the conduit of the transmission input shaft. The clutch arrangement further includes a bearing spacer between the transmission input shaft and the rotating clutch drum, wherein the bearing spacer has a conduit complementary to the conduit of the transmission input shaft and the conduit of the rotating clutch drum. The conduits of the bearing spacer, the transmission input shaft, and the rotating clutch drum define a clutch apply pressure path to control actuation of the rotating clutch drum.

Clutch for transmission assembly

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a transmission that provide power to a front axle, and fits in taller box to provide more room for the transmission. The transmission can comprise a front input shaft that receives rotational power from an engine. A front output shaft is coupled with a front axle to provide the rotational power, conditioned by the transmission, to the front axle. A rear riser gear set can be couple to the rear of the transmission to provide power from the bottom portion of the transmission to a bevel gear set that couples with, and provide rotational power to, a rear axle. In this way, the space between a rear axle centerline and front axle center line can be used by the transmission, allowing for a taller transmission to fit in the chassis.

Drop-box transmission in a reduced space

A transmission includes an input assembly, an electric machine, a variator and a power shift assembly. The input assembly has directional clutches and is configured to receive rotational engine input power. The variator has only a single planetary set configured and combine to receive rotational input power from the electric machine and the input assembly. The power shift assembly is configured to receive rotational power from the variator, and it includes speed gears, range gears and power shift clutches and an output shaft. The power shift clutches are configured to dissipate energy from asynchronous gear meshing. The power shift assembly is configured to effect multiple different rotational power flows through to the output shaft that arise from meshing gears at each shift to effect a unique one of multiple gear ratios.

Electronically-variable power shift transmission for work vehicles

A transmission includes an input assembly, an electric machine, a variator and a power shift assembly. The input assembly has directional clutches and is configured to receive rotational engine power. The variator has only a single planetary set configured to selectively receive rotational power from the electric machine and from the input assembly. The power shift assembly is configured to receive rotational power from the variator. Power shift clutches are configured to dissipate energy from asynchronous gear meshing and include a first power shift clutch carried by a first countershaft and a second power shift clutch carried by a second countershaft. The power shift assembly is configured to effect multiple different rotational power flows to effect unique gear ratios.

Electronically-variable, dual-path power shift transmission for work vehicles

A transmission assembly includes a transmission assembly housing; a continuously variable power source (CVP) configured to generate CVP power; an input arrangement selectively coupled to receive the engine power from the input shaft and the CVP power from the CVP; a variator configured to receive the engine power and the CVP power through the input arrangement; and an output arrangement including an output shaft defining an output axis and at least one output component connected to the output shaft. A transmission gear arrangement is configured to provide a selective gear reduction for transmission of selected output power of the CVP power or combined power of the CVP power and the engine power. The transmission gear arrangement includes a plurality of range clutches supported about the output shaft and configured to be selectively engaged to transfer the selected output power from the variator shaft to the output shaft.

Low profile transmission assembly with integrated CVP

A transmission assembly is provided for a work vehicle powertrain having an engine delivering engine power to an input shaft. The transmission assembly includes a transmission assembly housing having a first housing side through which the input shaft extends and a second housing side; a continuously variable power source (CVP) at least partially contained within the transmission assembly housing; an input arrangement contained within the transmission assembly housing and having at least one input transmission component; a variator contained within the transmission housing with a first variator side oriented toward the first housing side and a second variator side oriented toward the second housing side and configured to receive the engine power and the CVP power through the input arrangement on the second variator side; and a transmission gear arrangement contained within the transmission assembly housing for transmission of output power from the variator to an output shaft.

Transmission assembly with integrated CVP

A powertrain for a work vehicle includes an engine, a continuously variable power source (CVP), an output shaft, and a transmission. The transmission operably connects the engine and the CVP to the output shaft. The transmission is configured to provide selection between a plurality of transmission modes in which the transmission transmits power from at least one of the engine and the CVP to the output shaft. The transmission includes an input assembly defining an input axis, a variator assembly defining a variator axis, a countershaft assembly defining a countershaft axis, and an output assembly defining an output axis. The input assembly, the variator assembly, the countershaft assembly, and the output assembly are the same in different orientations. A vertical drop distance from the input axis to the output axis varies between the different ones of the plurality of orientations.

Powertrain with variable vertical drop distance

A powertrain has an engine, a continuously variable power source (CVP), an output shaft and a transmission configured to provide selection between a plurality of transmission modes. The transmission includes a variator, with first and second output members, that is operably connected to the engine and the CVP and forward, reverse, first speed and second speed transmission components, each having an engaged position and a disengaged position. The transmission configured to provide at least first and second forward transmission modes and a reverse transmission mode in each of which combined power from the engine and the CVP rotates the output shaft. The forward, first speed and second speed transmission components are substantially coaxial with the output members of the variator.

An infinitely variable transmission (IVT) provides a plurality of transmission modes. At least one mode is a serial mode and at least one other mode is a split-path mode. The serial mode may provide a powered zero and creeper ground speeds. The split-path mode(s) may provide higher field speeds.

Multi-mode infinitely variable transmission that provides seamless shifting

An infinitely variable transmission (IVT) includes a double planetary gearset with first, second, and third transmission components. The IVT includes a single planetary gearset with fourth, fifth, and sixth transmission components. In one mode, a first set of clutches is engaged, allowing transmission of engine power to the first transmission component, and allowing transmission of IVP power between a second IVP machine and the second transmission component. The third transmission component combines the engine power and the IVP power into first combined power that is transmitted from the third transmission component to the fourth transmission component. The fifth transmission component transmits return power to an engine shaft, and the sixth transmission component combines the first combined power and the return power into second combined power that is output to an output shaft for rotating the output shaft at a range of rotational speeds.

A compact creeper gear arrangement () for a multiple speed transmission () in which the creeper gear input () and output shafts () are laterally spaced from and parallel to the major shafts within the transmission. The creeper gear arrangement () utilizes an input gear () integral with one of the speed range gears () and selectively coupled to a shaft () that provides an input to a mechanical front wheel drive assembly (). The creeper gear arrangement () is a dual speed selectively engageable transmission where much of the mechanism is located within otherwise unused space within the transmission.
