A method is provided for controlling a brake system of a motor vehicle having a brake device () with a hydraulic brake unit () and a recuperation brake unit (). Method and apparatus for controlling a brake system for a motor vehicle having a brake device

A brake device for a motor vehicle has a brake pedal device () that can be operated by a driver with a variable force/travel pedal characteristic curve (V-PKL), a brake apparatus () for braking the motor vehicle with a braking effect corresponding to a degree of activation of the brake pedal device () and corresponding to the varible force/travel pedal characteristic curve (V-PKL), a memory device () with a stored characteristic diagram (KFL) of possible force/travel pedal characteristic curves and with a control device () for selecting the variable force/travel pedal characteristic curve (V-PKL) from the characteristic diagram (KFL) of the possible force/travel pedal characteristic curves.

A motor vehicle brake power proportioning device has a brake control force proportioned by a balance-beam-type device at a variable ratio onto different brake cylinders, particularly to the master brake cylinders of the front and rear axle of the motor vehicle. The balance-beam-type device is configured so that a lever arm adjustment, that is continuously a function of the brake control force, can be achieved for a constant course of the proportioning of the brake control force onto the brake cylinders. For achieving the lever arm adjustment as a function of the brake control force, at least one section of the balance-beam-type device is continuously deformable as a function of the brake control force.

An adjustable suspension strut for a motor vehicle includes a damping element enveloped by a spring, a first ring cylinder axially slidable relative to the damping cylinder, a second ring cylinder disposed between the damping cylinder and the first ring cylinder, a working chamber defined by at least the first and second ring cylinders, and an adjusting element configured to adjust the relative position between the damping element and one of the first and the second ring cylinders. The second ring cylinder is axially slidable relative to the damping cylinder. The second end of the spring is disposed on one of the ring cylinders. The two ring cylinders are axially displaced relative to each other.
