An onboard system in an aircraft records data simultaneously from a plurality of onboard products, systems, and devices. The data is recorded in response to an event trigger common to each onboard product, system, and device, and tagged with a common timestamp and stored in a centralized data store. The system compiles the data into a single dataset, synchronizing the data according to the common timestamp. The data may be modified to reflect the common timestamp where the data includes a different timecode from the original source. The data may also be modified to conform to a standard format. The dataset may be encrypted according to a standard and transmitted offboard for later analysis, or analyzed onboard if immediate analysis is required.

Onboard equipment data synchronization system

Apparatus and associated methods relate to synchronization of a ground support vehicle with a taxiing aircraft, so as to provide ground support services during taxi operation. After landing, a taxiing aircraft obtains a parking destination from a ground traffic controller. A first navigational route from a first location of the taxiing aircraft to the parking destination is determined. The taxiing aircraft transmits a signal indicative of the first navigational route to the ground support vehicle. A second navigational route of the ground support vehicle is determined so as to intercept the taxiing aircraft. The ground support vehicle navigates according to the determined second navigational route, and couples to the taxiing aircraft at a coupling location common to both the first and the second navigational routes. The ground support vehicle provides ground support service during continued navigation according to a coupled portion of the first navigational route.

Positional synchronization of taxiing aircraft with ground support systems

A reconfigurable edge computing node of a complex system is provided, the edge computing node including a core module executing selectable core software, and selectable input module(s) and/or output module(s) which can be installed in corresponding input/output ports, wherein each of the input module(s) or output module(s) provides a conduit for moving data to or from the complex system, with selections being chosen from catalogs of available input modules, available output modules, and available core software. The edge computing node provides reconfiguration upon attachment of any input or output module(s), or upon installation of any core software, automatically reconfiguring the edge computing node to enable communication between the core module and the input module(s) and output module(s) using compatible protocols. Reconfiguration of the edge computing node has been previously tested for each allowable combination of available selections of the input and output module(s) to satisfy a certification requirement.

Modular reconfigurable edge computing node

A multi-level network system of an aircraft includes at least one equipment area network and a wide area network. The equipment area network includes equipment of the aircraft, at least one wireless device, and at least one equipment area network coordinator. The at least one wireless device is configured to transmit and receive data using a first wireless link. The at least one equipment area network coordinator is configured to transmit to and receive data from the at least one wireless device using the first wireless link and to transmit data to and receive data from the wide area network using a second wireless link, the first wireless link using lower power than the second wireless link. The wide area network includes a wide area network coordinator that is configured to transmit and receive data from the at least one equipment area network coordinator using the second wireless link.

A first air data value is generated based on a first set of parameters. A second set of parameters that does not include any of the first set of parameters is processed through an artificial intelligence network to generate a second air data value. The second set of parameters is processed through a plurality of diagnostic artificial intelligence networks to generate a plurality of diagnostic air data values. Each of the plurality of diagnostic artificial intelligence networks excludes a different one of the second set of parameters. One of the second set of parameters is identified, based on the first air data value and the plurality of diagnostic air data values, as a fault source parameter that is associated with a fault condition.

Fault source parameter identification

A fire detection system for an enclosed area comprises: at least one infrared (IR) imager for generating infrared images of at least a portion of the enclosed area, for determining from the images that a fire is perceived present in the enclosed area, and for generating a first signal indicative of the perceived presence of fire; at least one fire detector for monitoring at least a portion of the enclosed area, the fire detector comprising at least one fire byproduct chemical sensor for generating at least one second signal representative of the presence of at least one fire byproduct chemical in the enclosed area; and a controller governed by the first and second signals to confirm that a fire is present in the enclosed area. In one embodiment, the enclosed area is divided into a plurality of detection zones with at least one fire detector disposed at each detection zone. In this embodiment, the controller includes a first controller governed by the second signals for generating a third signal indicative of the presence of fire in the corresponding detection zone; and a second controller governed by the first and third signals to confirm that a fire is present in at least one detection zone of the enclosed area.

Fire detection system

A micro mirror array including an upper wafer portion having a plurality of movable reflective surfaces located thereon, the upper wafer portion defining a coverage area in top view. The array further includes a lower wafer portion located generally below and coupled to the upper wafer portion. The lower wafer portion includes at least one connection site located thereon, the at least one connection site being electrically or operatively coupled to at least one component which can control the movement of at least one of the reflective surfaces. The at least one connection site is not generally located within the coverage area of the upper wafer portion.

Micro mirror arrays and microstructures with solderable connection sites

A detector including a base having a recess formed therein and a diaphragm generally extending across the recess. The detector further includes an infrared sensitive component or a piezoelectric or piezoresistive element located on, above or supported by the diaphragm. The diaphragm includes a material which is generally resistant to liquid chemical etchants and which has a thermal conductivity of less than about 0.005 WcmK.
