A self-propelled electric concrete saw having at least two electric motors. A first electric motor of the concrete saw is powered by an external power supply and can power both a saw blade and a drive system. A second electric motor of the concrete saw is powered by a rechargeable battery and can power the drive system. The concrete saw can be maneuvered by using the second electric motor with or without the concrete saw being connected to the external power supply.

Electric concrete saw

A method of making a combination tool including a mining drill bit and reamer. The combination tool includes drill bit body having a plurality of cutting segments attached thereto, a reamer body having a plurality of reaming segments attached thereto, and the drill bit body and the reamer body being configured to selectively attach to the one another. The cutting segments and reamer segments being attached by laser welding to the drill bit body and reamer body, respectively.

Method of making diamond mining core drill bit and reamer

A core drill bit includes an elongate hollow cylindrical body having opposite first and second end sections, a plurality of cutting segments with a connecting portion joined to the second end section, a plurality of reinforcing members joined to the second end section between the cutting segments and contacting adjacent cutting segments to offer rotational support thereto, and a plurality of current concentrators disposed on one or both of the second end section and the connecting portion. The cutting segments being capacitive discharge welded to the second end section whereby the surface of the second end section melts during the welding to affix the cutting segments with the tool body. The cutting segments include diamonds dispersed therein with portions having varying diamond concentrations.

Diamond mining core drill bit and methods of making thereof

A hybrid concrete saw includes a saw blade, an internal combustion engine having an output shaft operably connected to the saw blade, and an electric motor connectable to a battery for receiving power therefrom and having an output shaft operably connected to the saw blade. A transmission is connected to the output shaft of each of the engine and the electric motor and the saw blade. A clutch selectively decouples one of the engine and the electric motor from the transmission. A controller controls operation of the engine and the electric motor. The concrete saw is operable in a first mode where the saw blade is driven solely by the engine, a second mode where the saw blade is driven solely by the electric motor, and a third mode where the saw blade is driven by both the engine and the electric motor.

Hybrid concrete saw

A core drill bit includes an elongate hollow cylindrical body having opposite first and second ends with an end section having an end face defining an annular non-planar surface. The cutting head includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart cutting segments, the cutting segments being electrical welded to the non-planar surface whereby raised portions of the surface melt during the welding to affix the cutting segments with the face of the tool body.
