A wheelchair propulsion system provides a wheelchair user with a continuous input drive path of linear or elliptical shape. The propulsion system includes a Cardan gear system defining a linear reciprocating or elliptical input path over which propulsive force may be continuously applied to the wheelchair wheels. Because the input path is continuous, efficiency is increased and impact on the user's body is reduced thereby reducing discomfort and physical demands on the user's body. The angle of the input path may be altered to suit the particular needs of a user by rearrangement of the relative angular orientations of the gears in the propulsive system. The present propulsive mechanism may be integrated into a wheelchair or retrofitted to existing wheelchairs.

Wheelchair propulsive mechanism

A pallet retainer for securing a load on a pallet within a cargo container is monolithic and has upper and lower arms. The arms are placed under and over a transverse member of the pallet and the retainer is secured to the floor of the cargo container by various means to prevent forward and aft shifting. The upper arms may be bifurcated into two transversely spaced segments to retain the vertical members of the pallet and prevent transverse shifting.

Pallet retainer

A securement system for cargo containers comprising a plurality of structural members adapted for mounting within the container, such as a truck trailer, a railroad boxcar, or a portable container, to cooperate with support members such as beams, to secure the cargo within the container. The structural members may be mounted on the walls of the container, using auxiliary locking devices, or may be free-standing adjacent to the cargo. The structural members have components including recesses or openings adapted to be interengaged with a plurality of the support members which extend transversely or longitudinally of the container in order to hold the cargo in place. The structural members preferably extend vertically within the container.

Cargo securement system

A modular containment system for mounting within a cargo container, the system having a pair of opposing retaining members, transverse members such as beams engaging the retaining members, and adapters interlocked with the retaining members. The adapters are designed to secure the system within recesses in opposing walls of the container, and may have several configurations depending on the method of securing. The system is installed in selected portions of the recesses to secure the cargo at the rear end of the container, or at other locations forward of the rear end.
