The present invention relates to a method for producing a phosphate-containing anti-corrosive pigment, to the phosphate-containing anti-corrosive pigment obtainable by this method, and to the use of the phosphate-containing anti-corrosive pigment for passive protection against corrosion.

Halogen-free flame-proofing agent

The invention relates to a polymer material comprising a halogen-free flame-proofing agent incorporated into the polymer matrix, the flame-proofing agent comprising at least ammonium polyphosphate(s) and/or derivatives thereof and an oligomer or polymer 1,3,5-triazine derivative or mixtures of a plurality thereof and at least one compound selected from phosphates, pyrophosphates, polyphosphates, organic and inorganic phosphonates, organic and inorganic phosphinates, stannates, molybdates or borates of the elements of the main groups II, III, IV or of the sub-group elements Fe, Zn, Ti, Mn, Zr, Mo, pre-condensed melamine derivatives, melamine salts and addition compounds, ethylene diamine phosphate, piperazine phosphate, piperazine polyphosphate, 1,3,5-trihydroxyethyl isocyanurate, 1,3,5-triglycidyl isocyanurate and triallyl isocyanurate. The weight ratio of constituents A to constituents B is 10:1 to 1:1, constituents A and B together amounting to between 60 and 99 wt. % and constituents C and D to between 1 and 40 wt. % of the total weight of constituents A, B, C and D. The polymer material is a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).

In order to enlarge the range of matrix materials hitherto available for laser writing and to overcome the disadvantages of the previously used writing procedures for such matrix materials, the laser-writable molding material according to the invention is characterised in that the at least one polymer material of the component A) is selected from polymer compounds having siloxane crosslinking units.

The invention also includes a method for the preparation of a molding material as described above by the dispersion of a particulate flame retardant pigment to a plastic material, wherein under the influence of laser light the material changes color due to a change in color of the pigment or of the plastic matrix, and in that the pigment is a reaction product of at least one halogen-free flame retardant organic nitrogen base with a composition comprising at least one salt which can be reacted with the organic nitrogen base. Phosphate derivatives of a 1,3,5-triazine compound, preferably melamine polyphosphate, which are heat-resistant at the processing temperature, are selected which have an average condensation coefficient n (number average)&#x3e;20, a pH-value of a 10% slurry of the polyphosphate derivative in water at 25&#xb0; C. of 5 or higher, a molar ratio of 1,3,5-triazine compound to phosphorus (M/P)&#x3c;1.1 and a decomposition temperature&#x3e;320&#xb0; C. They can be produced by heat treatment of an orthophosphate or condensed phosphate with an average condensation coefficient n (number average) below 20 in an ammonia atmosphere at a temperature in the range of 300 to 400&#xb0; C. until the average condensation coefficient is above 20 and the molar ratio of 1,3,5-triazine compound to phosphorus (M/P) is below 1.1. The polyphosphates of the invention can be represented in simplified form by the following general formula: wherein M denotes a 1,3,5-triazine compound and n denotes the average condensation coefficient. For high and medium condensation coefficients n the sum formula can be reduced to (MHPO). Therein M once again denotes the 1,3,5-triazine compound and n denotes the average condensation coefficient. These polyphosphate derivatives can be used as flame-retardant agents in any plastic materials, preferably thermoplastic materials and thermosetting materials, in particular also in glass fibre-reinforced polyamides and polyesters which are processed at high temperatures.

Polyphosphate derivative of a 1,3,5-triazine compound, method for producing the same and its use

A derivative of phosphoric acid ester salt or adduct or a mixture thereof is obtained from a reaction product, polycondensed with at least one aldehyde, of at least one polyol phosphoric acid ester with at least one organic nitrogen base. The derivative is advantageously used as a flame-inhibiting and/or intumescent treatment in plastic mouldings, on porous carriers or in paint or coating systems. The production of the derivative or a mixture thereof by reacting at least one polyol with phosphorus pentoxide and reacting the polyol phosphoric acid ester obtained in that way with at least one organic nitrogen base forming a phosphoric acid ester salt or adduct, is characterized in that the amount of phosphorus pentoxide required for the esterification operation is suspended in an amount of the ester or ester mixture to be produced, then at a temperature in the range of 20&#x2013;180&#xb0; C. the amount of polyol required for the esterification operation and optionally water is added, then the esterification reaction is allowed to take place substantially completely and thereafter the product is obtained and finally the salt or adduct obtained by reaction of that product with the organic nitrogen base is polycondensed with at least one aldehyde.
