The invention concerns a dosing pump for moving a fluid, comprising a dosing head in which there is a dosing chamber and a displacement element reciprocatable between a first and a second position, wherein the displacement element delimits the dosing chamber, and the volume of the dosing chamber in the first position of the displacement element is greater than the volume of the dosing chamber in the second position of the displacement element, wherein the displacement element is coupled to a linear motor by way of a stroke element in such a way that in operation of the linear motor the stroke element performs a forward stroke and a return stroke in a housing in a direction of a movement axis with a stroke length h and the displacement element is reciprocated between the first position and the second position. To provide a dosing pump and to improve dosing pumps which are driven with a linear motor it is therefore proposed according to the invention that the stroke element has a cross-sectional area Q perpendicularly to the movement axis, wherein the square of the stroke length h is at least forty times greater than the cross-sectional area Q.

Dosing pump with linear motor

A diaphragm unit for a diaphragm pump includes a diaphragm core and a multi-layer pump diaphragm connected to the diaphragm core. The pump diaphragm has a fluid-impermeable working layer which comes into contact with a fluid to be delivered, and a fluid-impermeable safety layer. A sealed volume for receiving fluid passing through the working layer is arranged between the working layer and the safety layer. A first clamping region of the diaphragm forms a ring which annularly surrounds the diaphragm core. To detect a rupture of the working diaphragm layer, at least one element of a sensor is provided within the ring formed by the first clamping region for detecting fluid which penetrates into the sealed volume.

Diaphragm rupture monitoring

A magnetic drive metering pump in which a movable thrust member is fixed to a diaphragm and is axially movable in a magnet shroud. The thrust member, on electrically actuating the magnet shroud, is drawn into the magnet shroud against the force of a recuperating spring, and after deactivating the magnet shroud, is returned to a starting position. The diaphragm cooperates alternately with an outlet and an inlet valve to produce a pump stroke in a pump metering head. The magnetic drive metering pump has a reference element associated with the thrust member and diaphragm, the position of which reference element is detected by a positional sensor. The positional sensor provides a signal which has a fixed relationship to the position of the reference element, and the motion of the thrust member is controlled by a control circuit such that it follows a predetermined nominal profile.
