The present disclosure includes the use of a smart load cell in a system for controlling an electromechanical actuator. A load cell may be positioned along the outer surface of the electromechanical actuator. Further, the load cell may utilize strain gages and a microcontroller. The load cell may be configured to transmit data to an electric brake actuator controller which includes calibration for operating temperature of the electromechanical actuator.

A nut retention arrangement may comprise a first nut comprising a first threaded aperture and a first retention aperture, a second nut comprising a second threaded aperture and a second retention aperture, and a tensile member having a first end extending through the first retention aperture and a second end extending through the second retention aperture such that rotation in a direction toward loosening of either the first nut or the second nut causes rotation in a direction toward tightening of the other of the first nut or the second nut.

The present disclosure provides an electromechanical actuator comprising an actuator drive unit housing, a relief formed in the actuator drive unit housing, a column defined by the relief positioned adjacent to a second relief, and a load cell comprising the column and a strain gauge coupled to the column.

A stressroll assembly may comprise a first bracket comprising a first load cell. The first load cell may form a first half of a Wheatstone bridge. A first stressroll wheel may be mounted to a first axle extending between a first arm of the first bracket and a second arm of the first bracket. A second bracket may comprise a second load cell. A instrumented housing for an electric motor actuator is provided. The instrumented housing may have a ribbon gage coupled to a housing of an electrical motor actuator. The ribbon gage may have one or more strain gages. The strain gages may measure the tension on the housing when the electric motor actuator exerts a load. A cover may extend over at least a portion of the housing and ribbon gage.

A strain gage system for an electric motor actuator is provided. The strain gage system may be coupled to or integrally formed in a housing of the electric motor actuator. In various embodiments, the strain gauge system may comprise one or more principle strain gages. In various embodiments, the strain gage system may comprise one or more transverse strain gages.
