The assembly comprises a transom bracket comprising a swivel cylinder, a steering arm extending from the marine drive, a swivel tube having a first end coupled to the steering arm and a second end seated in the swivel cylinder so that steering of the steering arm relative to the transom bracket rotates the swivel tube in the swivel cylinder about a steering axis for the marine drive, and a yoke which couples the second end of the swivel tube to the marine drive.

A propeller hub assembly for a marine drive having a propeller shaft is provided. The propeller hub assembly includes a first hub portion having a first main body and multiple propeller blades extending radially therefrom, a second hub portion, wherein the second hub portion is coupled to the first hub portion, and a damper hub portion, wherein the damper hub portion is coupled to the second hub portion. The propeller hub assembly further includes multiple pendulum masses located within the damper hub portion. The first hub portion, the second hub portion, and the damper hub portion are configured to engage the propeller shaft such that rotation of the propeller shaft causes rotation of the first hub portion, the second hub portion, and the damper hub portion. Oscillations of the pendulum masses relative to the damper hub portion are configured to dampen torsional vibrations of the propeller hub assembly.

A propeller hub assembly for a marine drive having a propeller shaft is provided. The propeller hub assembly includes a first hub portion having a first main body and multiple propeller blades extending radially therefrom. The first main body is substantially cone-shaped and tapers inwardly from a first keyed end proximate the multiple propeller blades. The propeller hub assembly further includes a second hub portion having a second keyed end. The first hub portion is coupled to the second hub portion such that the first keyed end is mated to the second keyed end, and the first hub portion and the second hub portion are configured to engage the propeller shaft such that rotation of the propeller shaft causes rotation of the first hub portion and the second hub portion.

A marine engine has a crankshaft that rotates about a crankshaft axis; a crankcase supporting the crankshaft, the crankcase being made primarily of a first material; and a cover on the crankcase. The cover includes a heat exchanger having an inner plate facing an interior of the crankcase, and the inner plate is located such that rotation of the crankshaft causes lubricant in the crankcase to impinge upon the inner plate. The cover also includes a frame holding the heat exchanger and isolating the heat exchanger from direct contact with the crankcase. At least a portion of the frame is made of a second material that is more compliant than the first material.

A marine engine has an intake camshaft, an exhaust camshaft, and a crankshaft. Combustion in the marine engine causes rotation of the crankshaft which in turn causes rotation of the intake camshaft and exhaust camshaft. Rotation of the intake camshaft operates intake valves for controlling inflow of air to the marine engine. Rotation of the exhaust camshaft operates exhaust valves for controlling outflow of exhaust gas from the marine engine. The duct system includes port and starboard intake troughs that extend alongside the intake ports and redirect the intake air from a generally lateral flow into the intake ports to a generally vertically downward flow and then to a generally forward flow towards the intake conduit. Port and starboard baffles that extend alongside the intake ports and direct flow of water into port and starboard channels located alongside the baffles, respectively. The channels drain the water by gravity depending on tilt and trim orientation of the outboard motor.

A marine drive for propelling a marine vessel includes a lower gearcase, a propeller shaft laterally extending through the lower gearcase and configured to support a propeller, a propeller shaft bearing hub supporting the propeller shaft in the lower gearcase, and an exhaust passage that conveys exhaust gas through the lower gearcase to an underwater discharge outlet. The exhaust passage includes a first leg that conveys the exhaust gas downwardly in the lower gearcase and a second leg that redirects the exhaust gas laterally from the first leg to the underwater discharge outlet. The propeller shaft bearing hub comprises curved vanes that laterally redirects the exhaust gas from the first leg towards the underwater discharge outlet.

A marine engine has a cylinder block having a plurality of cylinders. A cooling jacket is formed in the cylinder block and is configured to convey cooling fluid alongside the plurality of cylinders. The cooling jacket has a top end and a bottom end. A ledge is formed in the cylinder block. The ledge radially extends into cooling jacket at a location between the top end and the bottom end. A spacer is disposed in the cooling jacket and supported by the ledge so that the spacer remains spaced apart from the bottom end, thereby maintaining a lower cooling passage between the spacer and the bottom end.
