An alignment assembly for use with a well string having a downhole tool to be positioned within a cased wellbore. The alignment assembly may include an outer assembly, an inner assembly positioned at least partially within the outer assembly, a locator, and a compensator. The locator may releasably couple the outer assembly to the inner assembly and be shaped to engage with a shoulder of the casing to align the downhole tool with a location along the casing. The compensator may be coupled to the outer assembly, positioned about the inner assembly, and configured to limit relative axial movement between the outer assembly and the inner assembly.

Completion locator assembly

A snap latch or collet for connecting two components together is provided. In one embodiment a latch for connecting a first wellbore element and a second wellbore element includes multiple tensile fingers and multiple collet fingers. The multiple collet fingers include at least two collet fingers disposed circumferentially between a pair of circumferentially neighboring tensile fingers. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

Snap latch or collet profile

A technique facilitates formation of secure connections for use in downhole environments. According to an embodiment, a connector may be constructed as a dry mate connector which provides both a sealed connection and a connection able to withstand a predetermined tensile loading. The connector can include a shape memory alloy sealing system which may be activated to form a secure seal with a corresponding cable or other component feature.

Systems and methods for monitoring and control in downhole well applications are provided. The system and methodology may be combined with a variety of completions or other types of well equipment deployed downhole to enable both electrical and fiber optic communication with downhole components. For example, the system enables both electrical and fiber optic communication for operating and monitoring of downhole completion systems or other systems.
