An expansion dowel includes an anchor bolt () having a load application element () at a first end region () of the anchor bolt (), and an expansion part () at a second free end region () of the anchor bolt (), and an expansion sleeve () having an inner profile () with a region () having a surface roughness increasing in the direction of the first end region () of the anchor bolt (), with the expansion part () having a conical section () widening toward the second free end region () of the anchor bolt () for expanding the expansion sleeve ().

Expansion dowel

A dowel bolt is formed of a bolt ( ) and has at the trailing end an outer thread ( ) and on the leading end an expansion head ( ) expanding in the setting direction (S) and an expansion sleeve ( ) that can be expanded by the expansion head ( ). At the trailing end face ( ) directed away from the setting direction of the bolt, the bolt has at least one peripheral recess ( ) with a depth (t ) providing a setting control and that can be economically manufactured.

Dowel bolt with expansion control

A self-cutting, undercutting dowel (1) is formed of an axially extending anchor rod (2) with a head part (3) leading in a setting direction (S) of the dowel and an axially extending sleeve (5) laterally enclosing the anchor rod (2). At its end facing in the setting direction, the sleeve (5) has expansion sections (7) separated from one another by axially extending slots (6). The sleeve (5) can be driven over the head part (3) relative to the anchor rod (2) so that the expansion sections (7) flare radially outwardly. At least one of the expansion sections (7) has a tooth shape at its end facing in the setting direction forming a cutting edge (10) for cutting an undercut in a receiving material for the dowel. The cutting action is effected by rotating the sleeve (5). The cutting edge (10) is located at a side edge (11) of the expansion section (7) leading in the rotating direction (R) of the sleeve (5) and the cutting edge is inclined to an axis (A) of the sleeve at a first angle (.alpha.). The expansion section (7) with the cutting edge (10) has a trailing side edge (12) inclined relative to the axis (A) of the sleeve (5) at a second angle (.beta.). The sum of the two angles (.alpha.,.beta.) is less than 160.degree..

Self-cutting undercutting dowel

A spreading anchor including an anchor rod having a stem (2) provided at its front end with a cone (3) which widens toward its free end, and a sleeve (5) which surrounds the stem (2), is axially displaceable along the anchor rod, and has a plurality of cutting tabs (6) separated from each other by axially extending slots (70, extending from a hinge point (9) in a direction of the cone (3), and having cutters (10), in regions of their free front ends, with the cutting tabs expanding radially upon the sleeve (5) being pushed onto the cone (3), with the sleeve (5) having at its free end in a region of the cutting tabs (6), and axially extending folded-over section (8) having an axial length (1) corresponding approximately to the length of the axial slots, and with the hinge (9) being located in the transition region between the folded-over section (8) and the sleeve outer surface.
